Best NBA Prop Bets Today February 9 2024

Tyrese Maxey Over 27.5 Points (-122) at FanDuel

Maxey struggled from the floor in three straight games as he and the Philadelphia 76ers continue to adjust to life without the injured Joel Embiid. But despite trending under, he’s still a highly capable scorer who dropped 51 points on the Utah Jazz in the first game of the month and should return to form soon.

Philly is taking on the Atlanta Hawks, who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league and ranked 28th in defensive rating over their last 10 games. Trae Young is also undersized and could struggle to keep up with Maxey’s speed and shotmaking, which is the reason to back him on Friday.

Amen Thompson Over 7.5 Rebounds (-122) at FanDuel

Thompson snagged 13 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, his first time playing more than 30 minutes. He figures to be in line for an expanded role with Tari Eason and Fred VanVleet both sidelined by injuries, and his recent performance suggests he can easily clear his total with enough minutes.

The 21-year-old rookie brought down seven boards in both of two games just before Tuesday’s in 22 average minutes and is committed to crashing the glass. The Toronto Raptors also aren’t a great rebounding team and don’t shoot the ball well, which means Thompson should have plenty of rebounding opportunities.

Jordan Poole Under 1.5 Threes (-104) at FanDuel

If there was ever a Poole party in Washington, the lifeguard shut it down a while ago. The ex-Golden State Warrior did not make a three in consecutive outings and went under this line in six of his last nine games while shooting 22% from deep during that span.

Poole fouled out with no points in 25 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday and only played 20 minutes the game before, which means he could be headed for another abridged appearance. The Wizards are also facing the Boston Celtics, who play great perimeter defense and have long, versatile defenders that will make it tough for Poole and company.

De’Aaron Fox Over 23.5 Points (-122) at FanDuel

Fox started the year scoring the ball better than he ever has but encountered some inconsistency issues recently. He failed to crack 20 points in back-to-back games and is about to face the defending champion Denver Nuggets, who have one of the 10 best defenses in the NBA.

All that said, Fox still went over this line in an even four of his last eight games and has a rest advantage over Denver, who just went to the wire with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. This line is nearly 3.5 points under his season average and is low enough to warrant the risk, even if he hasn’t been the best from the field lately.

Brandon Miller over 34.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists (-102) at FanDuel

The second-overall pick in the summer draft has been crushing it lately. He averaged 23.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over his last 12 games and cashed the over in three of his last four outings, scoring 28+ points in each instance.

Miller and the Charlotte Hornets are taking on the Milwaukee Bucks, losers of five of their last six that are 22nd in defensive rating during that stretch. They let the Minnesota Timberwolves shoot better than 50% from the field and from three last night and will now face Charlotte on tired legs, which bodes well for Miller’s chances.
