The LA Clippers and the Miami Heat match up for the first time this season. While neither have been in their preferred form at this point of the year, expect a gritty and defensive matchup between these sides. With injuries across the board, you never know who will step up to contribute!
The LA Clippers enter this game on the second leg of a back-to-back, and in the third game of a four-game road trip. Miami host the Clippers on the second game of their three-game home stand, a positive when considering they are 8-5 at home. From the eye test alone, Miami should have the advantage in this meeting.

The LA Clippers and the Miami Heat are both looking to get back on the winning track when they take each other on. The Clippers are coming off an overtime loss to the Orlando Magic in their last game, while the Heat suffered a 20-point loss to the Pistons in their last match.
Over their last two games, the Heat are shooting just 41.0% from the field and 33.0% from the three-point line, while committing 15.5 turnovers per game. The Clippers shot just 41.1% from the field and 36.6% from three-point range in their recent loss, but were unable to protect the paint in the overtime period.
The LA Clippers could stage a return to form when they face the Heat, but they are lacking some contributors that could assist their perimeter defense. The Heat are 8-5 at home where they hold their opponents to just 109.8 points per game on 47.0% shooting. Miami should earn the win through their ability to limit paint opportunities.
The LA Clippers and the Miami Heat are two of the league's worst-scoring teams. But they're also two of the league's best defensive teams. When they face off, expect a low-scoring affair contested in the paint.
The Miami Heat own the league's 28th-ranked scoring offence (108.3) and ninth-ranked scoring defence (110.2). The Clippers on the other hand have the league's worst scoring offence (107.2) and fifth-best scoring defence (108.8).
With both teams ranking in the bottom third of the NBA in terms of pace, don't expect a particularly high-scoring affair. Falling short of 215.5 is a tough call in today's NBA. However, between injuries and struggles, the Heat and Clippers should just give fans a flashback to an older scoring era of basketball.
