The Trail Blazers are much improved but an impressive defence supports the Warriors’ firepower. We expect the Warriors to recover from their last game with a statement win.

The Warriors have come together as a unit, impressing defensively and changing the narrative surrounding their team and its capabilities. Through their growth and efforts, along with some positive health, the Warriors have become one of the best defences in the NBA.
They’ll have a tough test against the Trail Blazers, who are one of the best scoring teams in the NBA. Between Damian Lillard and Carmelo Anthony, the Warriors will have their hands full.
It won’t be just up to the likes of Curry and Wiggins to keep up with Portland’s speedy backcourt, but also to the big men to help corral Portland’s attack-minded guards. The Warriors have one of their toughest tests yet.
The Portland Trail Blazers aren’t a team that is known for their playmaking or ball distribution. In fact, due to the individualistic nature of their offence, the Blazers are the worst in the league when it comes to ball distribution.
Despite scoring 114.4 points per game, the Blazers are last in the league in assists. With just 20.1 assists per game, it’s clear to see that the Blazers run almost exclusively through Lillard or McCollum.
If Portland wants to win this match, they’ll need multiple contributors. Testing the Warriors big men in the paint as well as finding open shooters can unlock the Warriors’ stout defence.

The Golden State Warriors know where their scoring comes from, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t receive more support from Andrew Wiggins. Were he more effective offensively, they might have had a better chance their last time out.
In the Warriors’ loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, Wiggins was ineffective. He posted only three points while collecting just two rebounds and two steals.
Wiggins is not an incapable offensive player, but he must work to find shots for himself if the Warriors want to keep up on the offensive end. Hitting easy baskets and keeping the Blazers honest from deep would do wonders for the Warriors chances.
Can’t say enough about Gary Trent Jr’s play of late. Letting it fly and hitting shots left and right. pic.twitter.com/1aXY2LyiPj
— Steve Jones Jr. (@stevejones20) February 24, 2021
Gary Trent may not be the most famous name on the team sheet when you look at the Portland Trail Blazers, he has been effective for them this season.
In his last game, Trent contributed 17 points on seven of 11 shooting from the field, also knocking down two three-point shots.
With McCollum likely out for this game, Trent will be looked at as the second scorer in the Blazers’ starting lineup. Capitalizing on opportunities and not settling for three-point shots is crucial.
