  • The Miami Heat enter this game off the back of a three-game win streak.
  • The Boston Celtics are on a four-game win streak of their own.
  • The Celtics beat the Heat in their earlier meeting this season, 111-104.

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Predictions and Picks

The Miami Heat should have the advantage in the paint when they face Boston. However, the Celtics' offence should be too much for the Heat to keep up with, especially if some key contributors remain unavailable.

Miami Heat Game Notes: Contain Boston's Three-Point Shooting

The Miami Heat's recent run of play has been impressive, particularly on the defensive end. Considering they've been far from an average offensive team, their defensive standards have helped them stay competitive this season.

Over their last three games, all wins for the Miami Heat, they've shot 45.8% from the field and 32.0% from three. More importantly, they've held their opponents to just 43.3% from the field and 27.4% from three-point range.

In victories, the Celtics score 17.1 threes on 42.2% shooting, versus 15.3 three-pointers on 35.5% shooting in losses. To earn the victory, Miami needs to limit their opponents from range.

Heat Key Player: (G) Tyler Herro

The Miami Heat haven't been as competitive as they'd like to be this season, but you could say Tyler Herro has been putting strong performances regardless. Herro may not have been efficient offensively in his last game, but he found other ways to lead his team to victory.

In the Heat's last game, a win over the Atlanta Hawks, Herro was excellent. He shot just 3 of 13 from the field and 0 of 8 from three, but he was able to produce an 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assist triple-double.

The Celtics have a very aggressive defensive plan, so Herro's playmaking will be a difference-maker when trying to break them down. If he can improve on his scoring efficiency, the Heat are in a great position to earn a win.

Boston Celtics Game Notes: Can the Celtics Maintain Their Red-Hot Offence?

The Boston Celtics are on a tremendous run of form as of late, earning four straight victories. If they can maintain their scoring form, the Heat will have a hard time containing them.

Over their last four games, the Boston Celtics are averaging 129.3 points on 54.4% shooting from the field and 46.5% from three. Their offense has been flowing, as they've averaged 30.3 assists per game over the same stretch while converting on 18.3 threes per game as well.

The Boston Celtics will want to determine the pace from the outset when they take on Miami. The scoring battle is in their favor, but the Miami Heat won't be quick to fold.

Celtics Key Player: (F) Jayson Tatum

The Boston Celtics remain one of the best teams in the NBA. Much of their success is off the back of the play of wing superstar Jayson Tatum. When they face the Heat, Tatum's best scoring form is needed.

Tatum was excellent in his last game, a 140-105 win over the Atlanta Hawks. He posted 35 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds on 15 of 28 shooting from the field and 4 of 14 shooting from three-point range.

The Hornets defence is nothing like the Heat's though, and Jayson Tatum will have to employ his playmaking skills as much as his scoring to take down the Heat. Considering Jaylen Brown may be unavailable for another game, the Celtics' chances are on Tatum's shoulders.
