Kings vs Warriors Game 4 Predictions: Golden State Defending Home Court

What Happened in Game 3?

The Golden State Warriors responded to the challenge their coach, Steve Kerr, threw down and came out on top in Game 3 against the Sacramento Kings. With Stephen Curry leading the way with 36 points and six 3-pointers, the reigning champions dominated the Kings 114-97 to pull the series back to 2-1. Kevon Looney also played a key role, matching his career high with 20 rebounds with nine assists. The Warriors will look to even Game 4 on Sunday at Chase Center.

The Warriors were missing two key defenders, suspended star Draymond Green and defensive stopper Gary Payton II, who was ill. But the team rallied around the absence of Green and played with a lot of heart and pride. Jordan Poole started in Green's place and contributed 16 points and five rebounds. The Warriors also received valuable contributions from Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Donte DiVincenzo.

De'Aaron Fox scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out nine assists for the Kings, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Warriors from taking Game 3. Harrison Barnes added 17 points against his old team. The Kings must regroup and come out strong in Game 4 to prevent the Warriors from tying up the series.

Key Stats from Game 3

The Golden State Warriors were the more efficient team on the offensive end, going 40.0% from the field and 32.0% from three-point range. Their three-point shooting was the difference maker, as they hit 16 of their 50 attempts.

The Sacramento Kings struggled to keep up with the pace of play from the tip. They failed to lead even once in the game while trailing the game by as many as 23 at one point.

Despite a strong rebounding showing from both teams, the Warriors came out the winner 59 to 53. Golden State's tenacity on the glass was apparent, as 18 of their 59 rebounds were on the offensive glass.

Kings vs Warriors Game Preview

The Sacramento Kings need to get back on track offensively, especially regarding their earlier success in the paint. In the Golden State Warriors' first game of the playoff series on their home court, they showed their true quality over the Sacramento Kings despite being shorthanded. They'll look to build off that momentum when Game 4 tips off, and they should regain the services of Draymond Green.

The Golden State Warriors perform very well on their home court. As the hosts, the Golden State Warriors have a 28-13-1 ATS Record, the best mark in the NBA, covering the spread 68.3% of the time. Through 41 games at Chase Center this season, the Golden State Warriors posted a 33-8 mark, only beaten by the first-place Denver Nuggets.

The Sacramento Kings were a better team on the road than at home through the regular season. As the road team, the Sacramento Kings posted an ATS Record of 27-15-0, covering the spread 64.3% of the time. On the season, Sacramento posted a 25-16 mark on the road, two games better than their home record.

Sacramento Kings Team Preview

Sacramento Kings ATS Record: 47-37-1

After dominating the first two games of the series against the Golden State Warriors, the Sacramento Kings lost their touch when the series shifted to San Francisco. Sacramento posted their worst offensive output of the series, even with the Warriors' best defenders unavailable for Game 3.

In their Game 3 loss to the Golden State Warriors, the Sacramento Kings scored 97 points on 38.0% from the field and 23.4% from three-point range. While the starting lineup remained productive, their bench failed to support them. After two solid outings at home, the bench trio of Malik Monk, Davion Mitchell, and Trey Lyles combined for just 11 points on 3 of 21 shooting.

To gain a 3-1 series lead, Sacramento's veteran players need to step up. De'Aaron Fox continues to impress, posting 26 points, 9 assists, and 9 rebounds on 40.9% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range. However, rookie Keegan Murray continues to struggle, posting just 6 points and 5 rebounds on 28.6% shooting from the field.

Golden State Warriors Team Preview

Golden State Warriors ATS Record: 40-44-1

The Golden State Warriors have the opportunity to level the series and find a way to gain control. The Warriors put forth a classic performance on defense in Game 3, and they'll hope to carry that form into Game 4.

On top of their stellar defense, the Warriors could find their offense on all tiers. They scored 114 points on 40.0% from the field and 32.0% from three while winning the rebounding battle 59 to 53. With Golden State committing 12 turnovers to 31 assists, the Warriors' shooting percentages don't do justice to their actual quality on the night.

With Draymond Green back in the lineup, the Warriors should be improved on both ends of the court. Stephen Curry leads the Warriors, scoring 36 points on 48.0% from the field in Game 3. However, Klay Thompson must improve on a night where he posted just 13 points on 33.3% shooting.
