LA Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks Predictions and Picks

Our Pick
Dallas’ shooting has been incredible over these last two games and frankly the Clippers haven’t been able to handle it. With home court advantage, the Mavericks can really put the Clippers’ backs against the wall.

LAC: Where Are The Clippers Role Players?

The Los Angeles Clippers went out and found the guys that can lead a team. However, the supporting cast are coming up dreadfully short when called upon.

The star pair of Leonard and George combined to produce 69 points, 18 rebounds, and ten assists in about 40 minutes of play each. The other three members of the starting lineup gave them 14 points on five of 15 shooting.

If the Clippers want to beat the Mavericks, they need to find more production from their role players. They need to help Leonard and George, all while shooting efficiently to beat the high-powered offense of the Mavericks.

Clippers Key Player: (F) Kawhi Leonard

The LA Clippers struggled in Game 1 and more was expected out of the stars to take a victory. While Leonard did as much as he could, the Clippers still didn’t come away with a victory.

Kawhi Leonard’s Game 2 performance was incredible. He posted 41 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

There isn’t much else that Leonard can do. He’s incredibly efficient shooting the ball, but his teammates aren’t helping him. At least, expect another monster game.

DAL: Keep Pushing The Pace

The Dallas Mavericks aren’t just playing well, they’ve looked excellent over their first two games with the Clippers. A big reason for their success is their ultra efficient offence.

In Game 2 the Dallas Mavericks were scorching hot from the field. They converted on 58.5% from the floor and 52.9% from three-point range, all while assists on 25 of their 48 field goals.

The Clippers are going to try and slow them down, but Dallas need to maintain their pace. If their bench players can maintain their offensive efficiency, the Dallas Mavericks will be one step closer to their ultimate goal.

Mavericks Key Player: (G) Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic has been absolutely incredible in his first two games. He now returns to Dallas for two matches in hopes of leading the Mavericks to one of the biggest upsets in NBA Playoff history.

In Game 2 Doncic posted 39 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, a block, and a steal. The only stain on his performance was his seven turnovers.

Doncic is attempting a lot of shots, but for all of the LA’s All-Defence level players nobody has been able to stop him. If Doncic can continue to initiate such a fantastic offensive gameplan, the Mavericks are in for another impressive night.
