Los Angeles Lakers Game Notes: The Lakers Need to Maintain Their Three-Point Shooting
The Los Angeles Lakers have found success over their last four games, mostly through their improved offence. When they can get in transition and find open shots from three, the Lakers can keep up with anyone.
Over their last four games, the Lakers have averaged 122.8 points on 49.4% shooting from the field and 39.1% from three. Their 12.5 threes per game over that stretch has helped them remain competitive.
On the season, the Lakers have been averaging just 9.9 threes per game on 32.4% shooting from deep. If they want to beat the Bucks' excellent interior defence, Los Angeles needs to keep them honest from range.
Lakers Key Player: (F) Anthony Davis
The matchup in the paint will be key and Anthony Davis' presence as a defender as well as a scorer will be crucial to Los Angeles' chances. If Davis can maintain his current form, the Bucks could be in trouble.
In his last game, a 128-109 win over the Trail Blazers, Davis posted 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 29 minutes of play. He was a solid 9 of 17 from the field while also getting to the free-throw line nine times.
When Davis is aggressive, the Los Angeles Lakers have a good chance of finding victory. Against a team that's very good at protecting the rim, Davis' inside game will be key to their chances at victory.
Milwaukee Bucks Game Notes: Milwaukee Need to Keep Stay Focused Defensively
The Milwaukee Bucks have been on a solid form, winning their last three games. When they take on the Lakers, they'll be looking to maintain their solid defence and efficient offence.
Key to the Bucks' scoring success has been their efficiency. They're shooting 49.8% from the field and 40.4% from three-point range. Their ball movement opens up plenty of opportunities for them, but don't discount their defence that has been holding opponents to 43.8% from the field and 33.7% from deep over the last three games.
The Lakers aren't one of the league's stronger teams, but they have the individual talent that can change games. If Milwaukee want to secure victory, they'll need to maintain their defensive standards from the tip - regardless of their own scoring ability.
Bucks Key Player: (F) Giannis Antetokounmpo
Former two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and Milwaukee Bucks leader Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the focus when they take on the Lakers. Antetokounmpo's presence on the inside will be the difference maker for Milwaukee.
In his last game, a 109-103 win over the New York Knicks, Antetokounmpo posted 37 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists on 13 of 25 shooting from the field and 9 of 12 shooting from the free throw line. Unfortunately, he also fouled out of the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers, for all of their faults, are actually one of the better interior-defending teams in the NBA. If Antetokounmpo can navigate their rim protectors, Milwaukee have a great chance at victory.
