MIL: Fast Out of the Gate

Without Antetokounmpo in the fold, you’d think that the Milwaukee Bucks lose quite a bit in the scoring department. However with the pace that they push, the Bucks can run away with any game.

The Milwaukee Bucks currently rank fourth overall in fast-break points. On top of that, they are ranked first in the league in points per game, and fourth in three-point field goals per game.

The Hawks may be missing a lot of key contributors in this game. If the Bucks can control the game with their run potential, the Hawks may not have the firepower to catch up.

Bucks Key Player: (F) Khris Middleton

In the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton gets to star for the Milwaukee Bucks. In his last game against the Timberwolves, Middleton showed his All-Star quality.

Middleton led the Bucks in their 25 point blowout over the T-Wolves, posting 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

The Bucks All-Star is one of the most efficient wing players in the NBA. While he presents a much less aggressive presence than Antetokounmpo, his ability to create for himself and others is game-changing.

ATL: Create for Each Other

The Atlanta Hawks were shorthanded in their last game against the Toronto Raptors, but their ability to create opportunities made up for their lack of playmaking.

The Hawks’ shooters had plenty of opportunities in their last match, converting on 13 of their 30 shots. Bogdanovic, Huerter, and Williams combined for 13 of the team’s 21 assists.

Without the threat of Trae Young, the Hawks need to create opportunities as a team. Newly acquired Lou Williams’ veteran savvy has been more than welcome in the playmaking department.

Hawks Key Player: (C) Clint Capela

The Atlanta Hawks are a flashy team, especially with the burgeoning stardom of Trae Young and John Collins on their roster. A player that gets lost in the scramble is eternal workman Clint Capela.

In his last match against the Toronto Raptors, Clint Capela dominated. Capela posted 19 points and 21 rebounds in 34 minutes of play.

Capela needs a strong creator to get his offense going, but his ability to battle on the glass and defend the rim will continue regardless of his scoring form.
