The final week of the NFL is tricky to bet, with many team's playoff fates already decided. While the Cardinals have been eliminated from the playoffs for a couple of weeks now, they will have plenty of motivation to win on Sunday. A win over one of their biggest rivals would put them ahead of the Niners in the final standings and complete the season sweep.

The same motivation will not be there for the Niners. Injuries have hampered the team all season, leading to their most disappointing season in recent memory. It's hard to fire up for a Week 18 game after a season like that, especially when San Francisco was in the Super Bowl just last year.

On top of low morale, the Niners will be without quarterback Brock Purdy and top receiver Deebo Samuel. With the top two running backs out and George Kittle questionable, backup quarterback Josh Dobbs is left without many weapons.

Arizona’s defense has had its ups and downs in 2024, but they delivered one of their best efforts in Wek 17. The Cardinals went on the road to hold a great Rams offense to just nine points. They were already eliminated from the playoffs, but the unit stepped up to try and steal a road win against their rival. Expect the defense to be equally focused on taking on the Niners' offense that has shredded them the last few seasons.

Arizona will be playing without starting running back James Conner on Sunday. While the team signed Michael Carter to replace him, we don’t expect much success. That will lead to Kyler Murray carrying the load in this game. 

When these two teams met earlier in San Francisco this season, Murray dominated the Niners run defense. He had seven carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Don’t expect things to be different this time, especially with this Niners team being beaten and broken.

Marvin Harrison Jr Over 52.5 Receiving Yards (-117) at Caesars Sportsbook

Marvin Harrison Jr. wasn’t as electric as many hoped in his rookie season, but we have seen how talented the 22-year-old is. After a rough run when he struggled to get catches, the receiver went for 96 yards on six catches. 

While Harrison and Murray are still developing their connection, the Cardinals clearly want to get the rookie the ball. He has seen 8+ targets in four of his previous five games. That volume, combined with Harrison’s talent, makes this one of our favorite bets of Week 18.

As we mentioned above, the Niners offense has been hampered by injuries. Losing a starting quarterback is enough to devastate most offenses, but it's made far worse when the top playmakers are also out. Dobbs will likely want to show out against his former team, but he doesn’t have the talent to overcome the injuries.

The Cardinals' defense showed some improvement against the rival Rams last week. However, LA’s offense is light years better than Arizona's on Sunday, so expect another impressive effort to close out the season.
