Vikings vs. Bears Prop Bets MNF Week 1: NFC North Showdown on Monday
-
The Vikings won both matchups with the Bears last year, including one in overtime
-
J.J. McCarthy is set to make the start of his NFL career
-
Caleb Williams’ career-high in passing yards (340) came against the Vikings
Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears will host J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC North showdown on Monday Night Football, and I’ve picked my favorite player props for the matchup.
The Bears’ 2024 campaign didn’t go as any of their fans had hoped, but optimism is high with new coach Ben Johnson and a reworked roster. On the other side, McCarthy is about to make the first appearance of his young career with an All-Star cast of teammates coming off a year in which the team went 14-3.
While both teams have the ability to have two of the top offenses in the NFL and could compete for spots in the NFC playoffs, the focus is purely on the best player props for MNF. Here are my picks.

Best Vikings vs. Bears Prop Bets in MNF Week 1
Colston Loveland Anytime TD (+390) at FanDuel
Loveland was taken with the 10th pick in the NFL Draft, which means that sooner or later, he’ll have a large focus in the Bears’ game plan. Johnson loves to scheme up ways to get his tight end involved, and Loveland is capable of exploiting mismatches against defenders and coming up with contested catches.
The Vikings had one of the best defenses in the NFL last year, and they will have plans to deal with Chicago’s talented receivers, DJ Moore and Rome Odunze. Loveland is flying under the radar because of his lack of NFL experience, and there’s too much value here to ignore.

J.J. McCarthy Under 220.5 Passing Yards (-114) at FanDuel
The Vikings are going to do everything they can to take the pressure off McCarthy early in his career. Coach Kevin O’Connell is a brilliant tactician, but McCarthy is effectively a rookie who didn’t get to practice last year due to the torn meniscus he suffered during the preseason.
Even during a national championship-winning season at the University of Michigan, McCarthy wasn’t asked to throw the ball much due to the success of the team’s running game. It’s unrealistic to expect him to handle a heavy workload in the first game of his career in primetime against a divisional opponent on the road.

Caleb Williams Under 20.5 Pass Completions (-108) at FanDuel
Williams went 1-1 on this line in matchups with the Vikings last year. He went under in nine of 17 games for the season and also went under in four of his final six games of the season.
Johnson is a run-first coach who knows the value of wearing down opposing defenses. The Vikings are also a blitz-happy bunch that is willing to give up occasional explosive plays if it means they can produce negative plays and lower opposing QBs’ completion percentages.

Aaron Jones Over 17.5 Receiving Yards at (-114) FanDuel
Jones’s vice grip on the Vikings’ running back duties was loosened by the arrival of Jordan Mason from the San Francisco 49ers. He’s still the lead back and went over this line in 12 of 17 regular-season games, including both matchups with the Bears.
McCarthy is in a tough spot in his first start in two years and the first of his NFL career, and I expect him to check the ball down to his running back on several occasions. That creates an opportunity for Jones, who is strong at gaining yards after the catch close to the line of scrimmage.
