Best Monday Night Football Prop Bets: Eagles vs. Buccaneers in Wild Card Finale

The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers in the final game of the Wild Card round. Even though the Eagles are a better team, they have fallen off the map.

Philadelphia has lost six of their past seven games. The Eagles have also had a mound of injuries and a wide receiver with an attitude issue in AJ Brown. Brown will miss this game with a knee injury, but he deleted everything related to the Eagles from his Instagram.

Jalen Hurts is also dealing with a dislocated finger from Week 18. While he did get cleared to play, he didn’t throw the ball much in practice this week.

Tampa Bay may not be the best team in the NFL, but they play hard. Nothing has been easy this season for the Buccaneers, but their quarterback, Baker Mayfield, is a competitor.

Mayfield has been on a mission since joining the team. He has a lot of weapons to work with, and it has shown with his stats. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rachaad White have all been excellent in the passing game.

The Buccaneers have a legitimate chance to win if they contain the Eagles' offense. They should be fine scoring, considering Philadelphia’s massive secondary holes. Let’s break down our favorite prop plays for the matchup!

Mike Evans Over 4.5 Receptions (-158) on FanDuel SportsBook

The Buccaneers have been a pass-heavy offense for the past six years with Mike Evans. Evans is just a massive receiver among typically smaller defenders.

Since Mayfield arrived in Tampa Bay, Evans has received a healthy dose of targets and yards. Evans went for his tenth consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2023.

Mayfield has looked Evan's way 136 times this season and connected 79 times. Evans is averaging eight targets and 4.64 receptions per game.

Philadelphia’s defense hasn’t done the greatest job defending the pass this season. They’ve given up the second most receptions in the league, allowing 25 per game. We expect Evans to take full advantage and capitalize on every opportunity he gets against this struggling defense.

Baker Mayfield Over 231.5 Passing Yards (-114) on FanDuel Sportsbook

Mayfield has been one of the biggest surprises of the season, and it’s the reason he is one of the Comeback Player of the Year finalists. Mayfield is ninth in passing yards, seventh in touchdowns, and has only thrown ten interceptions.

Mayfield’s passing yards line is set at 231.5 and he has exceeded this line in three of his past four games. The last time these two teams competed, Mayfield only threw for 146 yards, but these are two completely different teams at this point in the season.

The Eagles give up the second-most receptions to opposing teams, and they also allow 252.7 passing yards per game. This is the second-worst mark in the NFL and puts the Eagles in bad company.

Philadelphia also allows the second most passing touchdowns in the league. Very few stats support their secondary, and the Buccaneers should get the best of their opponent.

Kenneth Gainwell Over 15.5 Rushing Yards (-115) on FanDuel Sportsbook

Why take a backup running back to surpass his rushing line? This is because Kenneth Gainwell could be the X-Factor on Monday night.

Gainwell’s involvement in this offense has been trending in the right direction for the past six games, and it should continue this week.

D’Andre Swift was ruled out with an illness, and his status was still questionable as of Thursday. If he’s not 100%, it’ll give Gainwell the opportunity for more attempts.

The Buccaneers' defense also doesn’t do well against the pass, which helps Gainwell’s rushing line. Tampa Bay gives up 248.9 yards through the air every week, which is 27th in the league.

Gainwell is the third down back, so he should get more attempts if the Eagles are in passing sets. He is explosive enough to hit this line on a few attempts.
