This Week 12 cross-conference matchup pits last year’s NFL champion Los Angeles Rams against (arguably and statistically) the best team in the league, the Kansas City Chiefs, with the 3-7 Rams being a mere shadow of their Lombardi-Trophy-hoisting selves from last season while the Chiefs enjoy a four-game winning streak led by magical QB Patrick Mahomes and HC Andy Reid.

Kansas City has been playing top-notch football on both sides of the ball this season and (interestingly enough) they have covered the spread in each of their last four games against reigning Super Bowl champions, but for that to happen in this Week 12 matchup with this many oddsmakers points added on, a blowout would have to take place, which could actually unfold.

That’s because Rams starting QB Matthew Stafford (head) is listed as questionable to play, as is his backup John Wolford (neck), so hurling duties could fall to the third man up who is rookie Bryce Perkins who has never started, and only played in two games this season completing 6/11 for 61 yards with no scores or turnovers posted, plus LA is without WR Cooper Kupp (ankle, IR).

While the Kansas City Chiefs have the most productive offense in the league right now, the Los Angeles Rams are a different story, their 29th-ranked unit only generating 288 total yards per game with a rushing attack that’s 31st in the league after averaging just over 76 yards on the ground each game, now facing the Chiefs’ top-5 run defense geared to shut down opposing RBs.

Watch for the Chiefs HC Andy Reid to game plan his offense starring QB Patrick Mahomes as a way to take advantage of the Rams 17th ranked pass defense despite flashes of playmaking from stars like CB Jalen Ramsey and DT Aaron Donald and despite each of Los Angeles’ last five games against AFC opponents going under the total points line, that’s not what we suggest.

Here is how the scoring has gone so far this season – the Chiefs' number one ranked offense has posted 30 points per game and the Rams' 30th ranked offense averages 16.8 points per game, that total of 46.8 over what this bet requires, and KC’s defense allows 23.3 points per game and LA’s allows 22.7, a total of 46 points, another sign to take the over on this bet, assuming QB Stafford starts under center.

MONEY LINE: Kansas City Chiefs (-910) at Unibet

When a game is this uneven and the oddsmakers are predicting a blowout, the money line bet can be a risky proposition, with those who believe the Kansas City Chiefs will win outright having to spend $910 dollars just to win back $100 plus your wager if they do win, not the kind of payout to write home about but a thrilling way to make a profit if you fully believe in KC.

For Los Angels Rams fans, a miracle would have to happen for HC Sean McVay’s banged-up underdog roster to somehow beat the best team in the league (at least according to most power rankings), with a $100 money line bet on the Rams paying out $600 plus that original investment, a decent payday if you are willing to take the chance that LA can pull it off.

The bad news for Rams fans is that Kansas City has won each of their last 16 games as heavy favorites (meaning >-7.0 points), and even if the weather turns snowy and icy in the uncovered confines of Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri’s November, KC will still have the advantage since the Rams are a warm weather team, and those Chiefs fans would be sure to let them hear it.
