Steelers vs Colts Predictions

POINT SPREAD: Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 (-109) at Unibet

This NFL Week 12 Monday Night Football AFC interdivisional matchup is a sports bettor’s delight as the 3-7 Pittsburgh Steelers take on the 4-6 Indianapolis Colts, as the Steelers' longtime HC Mike Tomlin faces his first losing season at the helm while the Colts interim HC Jeff Saturday continues to breathe fire into his players while trying to recover the season.

Pittsburgh has covered the spread in five of their last six games against the Colts, so we expect them to do it again here, their rookie QB Kenny Pickett still in the middle of his developmental stage as he adjusts to the speed of the NFL, while on the other side of the field is veteran QB Matt Ryan once again under center for the Colts, a team leader ranked 9th in production among his QB peers.

Some fun matchups to watch for include Colts RB Jonathan Taylor as he attempts to gain ground yards against the Steelers defensive front including healthy OLB TJ Watt now responsible for 1.5 sacks and 3 QB hits plus 16 tackles in his three appearances, plus watch for Steelers rookie WR George Pickens as he runs routes against Indy’s secondary including CBs Stephon Gilmore and Isaiah Rodgers.

The Indianapolis Colts have six losses after having scored just 15.7 points in each games this season which is second lowest in the league plus they are in the bottom third of the NFL on third downs, whereas the Pittsburgh Steelers offense averages 17 points per game, that total of 32.7 still under what the oddsmakers are predicting, these two offenses struggling to find endzones.

On the defensive side of the ball, Pittsburgh allows its opponents to score 24.4 points per game while Indy’s defense is less generous allowing 20 points per game, that 44.4 over what this wager allows, but keep in mind that the Steelers have TJ Watt back on defense, his injury and absence one major reason (among many) for Pittsburgh’s earlier defensive struggles.

Fourteen of the Indianapolis Colts' last 16 games have gone under the total points line which is no doubt why the oddsmakers have set this points total bet so low, with other factors also playing into the wager including injuries – be sure to check back before you bet to make sure all the playmakers are suiting up – and weather, though Lucas Oil Stadium has a closeable roof so snow should not come into play.

MONEY LINE: Indianapolis Colts (-144) at FanDuel

The Pittsburgh Steelers have won 12 of their last 14 Monday Night Football matchups but that was in the past and right now they are struggling to score points and find wins, but those Steelers fans who still believe in this franchise might want to add to the excitement of the game and bet a $100 on the money line and win $122 plus your bet if the underdog Steelers find a win.

Those Indy Colts fans who still believe in their team despite a constant rotation of quarterbacks and now head coaches, this money line bet costs $144 for the chance to win back $100 plus your bet if interim HC Jeff Saturday can continue to infuse life into this team that’s just two games behind the Titans in the AFC South, with a conference win here critical for them.

The Indianapolis Colts have been effective against air attacks, with DC Gus Bradley’s squad ranked 7th in the league at stopping the pass, and they will be facing the Steelers’ 24th-ranked pass game that throws for just over 200 yards per outing, these two teams having played each other 32 times total in the past, with Pittsburgh way ahead in the battle 26-2 overall.
