The top game of the night in the NHL on Tuesday will be a primetime televised game between the Detroit Red Wings (14-9-4) go on the road to take on the St. Louis Blues (13-13-1). This will be the first matchup this season between the two teams who are looking to make statements in their respective conferences.
Both teams are looking to get out of their respective slumps. The Red Wings have been allowing too many points within the past few weeks. The Blues have been among one of the least efficient offenses within the past week, scoring only nine goals in the last six games.
The Red Wings have had a slow start with the new addition to forward Patrick Kane playing on the ice. Detroit is 0-3 in games where Kane has played as he has only scored one goal during that span. Before the three-game losing streak, the Red Wings won six of the seven games playing as their offense and defense had played great.
The Blues play a slow and methodical offense, but it comes at the risk of offensive efficiency. St. Louis is ranked 26th in the league in goals per game (2.78). Despite the struggles from both teams, the Red Wings are the more trusted team going into Tuesday’s matchup.

One of the most underrated games going into this Tuesday night is the Pacific divisional matchup between the Calgary Flames (11-14-3) at the Vegas Golden Knights (19-5-5). This game will be the second matchup of the season between the two teams.
The Flames were about to account for a big win at home over the Golden Knights back on November 27 with a 2-1 score. After the Golden Knights started the game with a 1-0 score, the Flames tied the game in the third period. Calgary defender MacKenzie Weegar gave the Flames a win in overtime over the Golden Knights.
The Flames have been battling an up-and-down season as they have been mostly under .500% through a good portion of the season. Calgary has won only one of the last five games against a brutal slate of Eastern Conference and Western Conference teams. Their biggest concern is their efficiency on the DNS side of the ice as they are ranked 31st in the league in goals allowed per game (3.62).
The Golden Knights had one of the best stars in the entire season as they didn't lose a game until November 5th in the regular period. Since the Golden Knights have seen some tough play. After starting the season with an overall record of 11-0-1, the Golden Knights would win only five of the next 14 games. Vegas has seemed to overcome a terrible slight in November with a solid start in December as they have won four of the first five games in the new month. The Golden Knights are on a three-game win streak. They have outscored their opponents 17-8 in their last three games.
The Golden Knights are more composed on the offensive side of the ice and are looking to redeem themselves from last month and the loss to the Flames.

The closest match-up with the night is set as the Tampa Bay Lightning (13-11-5) go on the road to take on the Vancouver Canucks (18-9-1). This is a game where both offenses are expected to be firing on all cylinders. The Canucks are much more efficient on both sides of the ice and will have the home-court advantage, but the oddsmakers are giving the Lightning a serious chance at an upset tonight.
The Lightning previously defeated the Canucks much earlier in the season with a 4-3 score as forward Nitika Kucherov scored two goals against the elite defense of the Canucks. Vancouver attempted a serious comeback around the second period, But the Lightning had been consistent since the start of the game.
Tampa Bay ranks 12th in the league in goals per game (3.28) as they are seeing tremendous play from Kucherov. He is among the league's most active offensive players as he is accounted for 47 points, with 19 of them being goals at 28 being assists. What makes the Lightning not as efficient as the other top teams in the league is their horrible play on the defensive side of the ice. Tampa Bay ranks 30th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.52).
The Canucks are seeing fantastic play on both sides of the ice as they rank first in the league in goals per game (3.82) and fifth in the league in goals allowed per game (2.61). The Canucks have four players who have accounted for 32 points or more this season.
The reliability of multiple role players and the efficiency on the defensive side of the ice will play a big part of the winner tonight. This game should be one of the best bets to make and the entire night of the NHL as it will account for significant earnings.
