Best NHL Bets Today December 13

This Wednesday night, only four games are being played in the NHL. One game that is set for a prime-time matchup as the Boston Bruins go on the road to take on the New Jersey Devils in one of the biggest Eastern Conference games of the week. There are two games tonight there are going to be close odds for players to inquire on great betting opportunities and win significant earnings.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Montreal Canadiens

  • Moneyline: Penguins (-155) | Canadiens (+130)

My Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins (PIT)

Kicking off a new slate of NHL games this Wednesday is the Eastern Conference matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins visiting the Montreal Canadiens. This will be the first matchup of the season between these two teams.

Nothing this season has been easy for the Penguins, as they have been battling an up-and-down season and trying to get above .500%. After a five-game win streak to start the month of November, the Penguins would win only four of their next 13 games. The Penguins are coming off a 4-2 win at home over the Arizona Coyotes before that win, the Penguins were on a four-game losing streak.

The Montreal Canadiens haven’t exactly had the most efficient season either. Through two months of the season, Canadians have never had a winning streak go past two games. They have been battling throughout the entire season to attempt to consistently get to .500%. The Canadians have won only two of the last six games and are coming off a 2-1 home loss to the Nashville Predators.

Neither of the offenses has been efficient over the past few weeks. Pittsburgh is ranked 23rd in the league in goals per game (2.93), while Montreal is ranked 21st in the league (2.61). The biggest difference maker will be the defense of the Penguins, which ranks sixth in the league in goals allowed per game (2.59).

Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils

  • Time: 7:30 PM E.T. - Wednesday

  • Moneyline: Bruins (+102) | Devils (-122)

  • Puck Line: Bruins +1.5 (-238) | Devils -1.5 (+195)

  • Total: Over 6 (-125) | Under 6 (+105)

My Pick: Boston Bruins (BOS)

The biggest game of the night in the NHL is set for a huge Eastern Conference matchup as the Boston Bruins (18-5-3) go on the road to take on the New Jersey Devils. This game is set to be the closest match-up odds tonight. It will also be the first meeting of the season between these two Stanley Cup finals contending teams.

The Bruins have been one of the best teams in the league since the start of the season. Their first loss in regular game format wasn't until November 4th. After coming off a streak where they only won one of five games, Boston has won four of the last five matchups. Boston should be well rested for the huge matchup tonight as they’re coming off a 5-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes this past Saturday.

The Devils have been among the most competitive and electrifying teams in the NHL. After 8 6-2-1 start this season, the Devils would only win two of the next nine games. They have currently won six of the last eight games, but are coming off a 4-1 loss this past Sunday at Edmonton.

Boston has been one of the most consistent teams on both sides of the ice this year. Boston is ranked 11th in the league in goals per game (3.31) and they are third in goals allowed per game (2.5). They possess incredible talent throughout the roster and some of the most established goalies in the league.

The Devils have one of the fastest and most explosive offenses in the league. They average 3.54 goals per game, which is fourth in the league. While they devote a lot of attention to their offensive efficiency, their defense is lacking as their the second-worst team in the league when it comes to scoring defense. New Jersey allows an average of 3.6 two goals per game, which would be a serious problem going against a smart and efficient offense like the Bruins.
