These series create great betting opportunities in game lines, over/unders and more through several different sportsbooks. It was no surprise that the second-round series between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers was going to be brutal. Through the first two games of the series, the matchup between the Panthers and the Bruins has been one-sided in each game as they have been brutal for the opposing team.
In game one, Boston went on the road to steal game one with a 5-1 win. After the initial goal from the Panthers in the second period, the Bruins scored three quick goals. Since the start of the start of the game, the Bruins had more energy and intensity despite the Panthers having an energized crowd.
The Panthers got their revenge in game two by dominating the Bruins with a 6-1 score last Wednesday night. Boston scored the game’s first goal in the first period, but Florida scored three goals each in the second and third periods. Both teams came out with energy as the Panthers outhustled the Bruins 65-to-60 hits, but the defense of the Panthers dominated the Bruins by holding them to only 15 shots.
The series now goes back to Boston for two games which will give the Bruins a series 3-1 series lead. This could be a problem for Florida to overcome as they have needed energy to help propel them to wins. It is going to be difficult for the Panthers to show more intensity on the road against a hostile Boston crowd. The Panthers do feel confident they can tire out the Bruins with Boston coming off a seven-game series over the Toronto Maple Leafs in round one.

The second and final game of the night is the Western Conference game two thriller as the Edmonton Oilers go on the road to take on the Vancouver Canucks. On Wednesday night, the Oilers entered the game as the favorites to defeat their rivals. Edmonton started the game with a 4-1 run through the middle of the second period before allowing one goal from Vancouver near the bottom of the second. The Oilers had the Canucks on the run until they allowed three goals and the third period with the final two coming from a span of 38 seconds, thus taking away the momentum the Oilers developed.
Vancouver took the 5-4 win at home as well as the four previous regular season matchups this season. Wednesday night’s matchup was also the fifth game this season where the Oilers and the Canucks combined for more than six goals.
There is a great chance tonight that more than six goals could be scored again based on the efficiency and explosiveness of the offenses. The Oilers are going to look to be more efficient on defense in game two, but their offense will look to play with even more intensity after not scoring in critical moments.
Look for both teams to take more shots in game two as opposed to game one (32 total shots).
