There are a few games this Tuesday night where a team is overwhelmingly better but is coming into the game with a low line. This should make for a great opportunity for bettors to pick the overwhelmingly better team. One game for example, is the matchup between the Boston Bruins (11-1-2) and the Buffalo Sabres (7-7-1).
Not only do the Bruins have the best overall record in the NHL, but they are also more efficient on both sides of the ice than the Sabres. Boston is averaging 3.21 goals per game thanks to an impressive roster and talent throughout the ice. The Bruins are easily the best team in the league defensively, as they are allowing an average of 2.00 goals per game. Among the biggest reasons for the Bruins’ success on defense is their tremendous play at goalies.
Buffalo is in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference, as they are looking to use a win over Boston as an example of their potential as a playoff contender.
Much like their overall record, the Sabres’ defense is in the middle of the pack in terms of efficiency. Buffalo is allowing an average of 3.13 goals per game. What is keeping the Sabres from being among the serious playoff contenders is their consistency on offense. The Sabres are averaging 2.93 goals per game, which is ranked 11th in the league.
While the Sabres possess the home-court advantage on Tuesday night, they do not possess the same intensity on either side of the ice to keep up with the Bruins. This bet should be an easy decision for NHL fans and bettors to make.

Another game that is set to feature a heavily favored Stanley Cup contender that will have a small favorite this Tuesday night will be between the Vegas Golden Knights (12-2-1) visiting the Washington Capitals (7-4-2). The Washington Capitals are a much more efficient team than the Buffalo Sabres and also possess a homecourt advantage. What makes the Capitals stand out this season is their defense. Unlucky for them, the Golden Knights have a much better defense. Bettors shouldn't think twice about making this game one of their top picks.
Much like the previous matchup, where the Bruins were much more efficient, the Golden Knights are easily the better team statistically than the Capitals. The Golde Knights are ranked second in the league in goals allowed per game (2.13), thanks to a combination of stellar play from their defensive role players and their goalies. Offensively, the Golden Knights are tied for fifth in the league in goals per game (3.67) due to their incredible amount of high-caliber talent.
The Capitals also possess a reliable set of goalies that have helped the team allow only an average of 2.85 goals per game, which is the eighth-best in the league. The biggest drawback for the Capitals is their lack of efficiency on offense, as they average only 2.31 goals per game. They possess the second-worst scoring offense in the league.
This game should be another matchup where bettors shouldn’t have to think twice about this game. With the odds being so slow for an overwhelming better team, it is a great opportunity for players to win significant earnings.
