Winnipeg Jets vs. Colorado Avalanche
My Pick – Cale Makar to Account for Over 1.5 Points (+180) at DraftKings
Several players for the Colorado Avalanche have accounted for consistent performances throughout the first-round matchup against the Winnipeg Jets. Among the most consistent is defender Cale Maker who has accounted for five points with four being assists in the two games played against the Jets.
The Avalanche have scored 11 total goals in the two games played against Winnipeg. Makar has been there for just about half of those goals.
He has been one of the most consistent passers throughout the entire league and has been especially the best passer for the Avalanche. He has been a key reason why Colorado finished the regular season with the top-ranked scoring offense in the league.
Look for Makar to account for another solid passing performance against the Jets, who might be riding out of steam defensively.
Bet on Cale Makar at DraftKings
Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings
My Pick – Connor McDavid to Account for Over 1.5 Points (-130) at DraftKings
The Edmonton Oilers knew they were set to be in a tough round-one matchup with their Pacific divisional rival in the Los Angeles Kings. After a big 7-4 win in game one, the Oilers fell at home to the Kings with a 5-4 loss in overtime.
Many aspects of this game led to the loss for the Oilers, but among the biggest was the lack of full production from store center Connor McDavid. In the loss, McDavid accounted for one assist and no goals. The team was negative about his presence on the ice. When he was off the ice, the Kings scored three goals.
That being said, McDavid and the Oilers knew the highly efficient defense of the Kings would be a tough task to overcome consistently. McDavid has shown he can lead a team through an incredible performance and account for a big win. In game one he accounted for five assists.
The Oilers will need that impact from McDavid to grab a win or two when the series goes to Los Angeles for two games.
