New York Islanders vs. Carolina Hurricanes

My Pick – Jake Guentzel to Account for Over 0.5 Assists (-140) at DraftKings

The Carolina Hurricanes are one game away from making it to the second round of the playoffs. They had a chance last Saturday but fell in game 4 on the road against the New York Islanders. This Tuesday night, hurricanes will attempt to close the series at home.

To do so they only need great closeout performances from their star players, including the newly traded forward Jake Guentzel. Cancel is no rookie when it comes to being needed for a strong postseason run. This will be his first time doing it with the Hurricanes.

In a loaded Hurricanes roster, Guentzel is the player who has been performing at his best. In the four postseason games played, gentle has accounted for four points with three being assists. He has remained an excellent pastor and a player who has been available to set up great scoring opportunities for his teammates. With the Islanders being one of the bottom-ranked defenses in the league they will look to try and shut him down again, ultimately leaving him to create score an opportunity. Look for him to account for another stellar assist in the game and potentially close out the series for Carolina.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Winnipeg Jets

My Pick – Cale Makar to Account for Over 1.5 Points (+180) at DraftKings

The entire series of the Colorado Avalanche versus the Winnipeg Jets has been one of the most explosive first-round matchups of the entire postseason. The entire four games played have had a can combined score of at least six points.

There have been many players that have helped create those high-score performances, but leading off for the Avalanche is defender Cale Maker. In the four games played against Winnipeg this post-season, my car has accounted for eight total points with six being assists.

My car has been the most aggressive and high-value passer and offensive player for the Avalanche in the series. His performance in the first round so far has been a resemblance to the 2022 NHL playoffs where he helped let the Avalanche to the Stanley Cup title. That postseason he won the Conn Smythe award as the most valuable player for the entire postseason. He is on a very good path to accomplishing that same task again if the Avalanche can continue to win.

It should be no surprise that my car could have another high-volume performance; in fact, it is expected.
