Tuesday night is a huge night for the NHL as multiple games will multiple opportunities for bettors to make significant earnings. Among the best bets today are mismatches and opportunities for players to account for big games.
The most mismatched game on Tuesday night is set for the Chicago Blackhawks visiting the M as in Oilers as huge underdogs. The Blackhawks have been a team that has not gotten better as the seasons progressed while the Oilers have become a much more efficient team since the addition of their new interim coach.
Chicago has the fifth-worst-scoring defense in the league, allowing an average of 3.44 goals per game. Edmonton is ranked seventh in the league in goals per game (3.48) as they have been becoming more productive within the past few weeks.
Oilers star center Connor McDavid has certainly been the biggest reason why the team has been more respected. McDavid has scored more than two points, and six of the last seven games for Edmonton. It should not be a problem for him to replicate that production again against a bad Blackhawks defense.
One of the top games of the night is set to be a huge Eastern Conference versus Western Conference matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vancouver Canucks. The oddsmakers are calling for this game to be a close matchup in favor of the Canucks, but the canucks have a huge advantage on both sides of the ice.
Vancouver is ranked first in the league in goals per game (3.82) thanks to multiple playmakers throughout the roster. In a game where an offensive shootout is projected to occur, the Canucks are the team that will likely survive the outcome, especially with the star plane of center J.T. Miller.
Through the last 17 games, Miller has been among one of the most consistent players for the Canucks. He has accounted for a point in 14 of the last 17 games. He should have a great offensive performance, especially since Tampa Bay has the third-worst defense in the league, allowing an average of 3.52 goals per game.
The final game of the night is set for a Western Conference matchup between the Winnipeg Jets visiting the San Jose Sharks, who are slowly rising out of the title for the worst team in the NHL.
The Jets, however, are they much superior team and are expected to bring a great offensive performance against a Sharks defense that is still the worst in the league. The Sharks are allowing an average of 4.04 goals per game, which is more than when the Sharks were consistently losing instead of winning.
Winnipeg is expected to utilize center Mark Scheifele more in the game against San Jose as Ford Kyle Connor may be out of the lineup after taking a hit to the knee in the previous game against the Anaheim Ducks. Scheifele has accounted for a team-high 28 points and a team-high 19 assists.
