The final weeks of the NHL season are unpredictable. Yesterday's games were supposed to be potentially easy money for a lot of bettors, but the wild performances from other teams and the desperate grind to get into the playoffs have made potential matchups unpredictable. As the season continues into only two games tonight, teams will demand the most out of their star players. It also helps that the two games being played tonight are divisional matchups where they want to win big against their divisional rivals. Look for these star players to potentially make a big impact in the games and have great player props lines through DraftKings.
Here are our favorite NHL player prop picks for Wednesday.

My Pick – Tage Thompson to Account for Over 0.5 Assists (+165) at DraftKings
While the Atlantic Divisional rival matchup between the Ottawa Senators at the Buffalo Sabres is not going to be a playoff-caliber matchup, there is still great value in this game. The Sabres are coming into this game with some momentum and as the favorites over the Senators, who are likely the next Eastern Conference team to be eliminated from the postseason.
One big reason for the Sabres’ recent win streak and being above .500% is the tremendous play of forward Tate Thompson. He is a player who has been more efficient through the second half of the season.
He has accounted for 10 points, with six of them being assists in the last eight games played. Thompson has accounted for an assist in four consecutive games played.
The Sabres’ offense is facing a Senators’ defense that is ranked in goals allowed per game (3.56). Thompson should have a great opportunity to get another assist.

My Pick – Nitika Kucherov to Account for Over 1.5 Points (+110) at DraftKings
The biggest game of the night is set for a huge matchup between Atlantic divisional rivals and a potential preview of the Eastern Conference Finals as the Boston Bruins go on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. This has turned into one of the hottest rivalries in the NHL.
One player that has been showing up in these rivalry games is Lightning for Nikita Kucherov. In the three games played this season between the two teams, Kucherov has accounted for five points, with three being assists. He's a player who demands the will to go out and help control the office or at least contribute to the goal.
The past two games for Kucherov had been light as he accounted for only one assist against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. In the four games prior, however, Kucherov has accumulated 15 total points against high-volume defenses like the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers.
The Bruins are not any different from being an elite team as they allow an average of 2.74 goals per game (seventh in the league). It will be a tough ask for the store player to replicate these games and regain the rhythm that he previously lost and the last two games, but Kucherov has done it before.
