This Thursday night is another great night in the NHL with multiple games being played. These are games that will have major implications for the postseason and for the remainder of the season. Teams are going to demand the most from their star and role players. Some of the top bets to make tonight will be player prop opportunities through DraftKings. Two players have a chance to make their statement against bad defenses on the ice, thus potentially allowing bettors to earn some significant winnings.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Ottawa Senators

The Chicago Blackhawks have nothing left to fight for this NHL Season except tanking for the potential first-overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. The Ottawa Senators haven’t been eliminated from postseason play yet, but are on the cliff. They are not likely going to lose to the Blackhawks, but the Senators need to make a statement.

Fortunately for the Senators, they have the chance to account for a high-scoring game. Ottawa is ranked 14th in the league in goals per game (3.21), while Chicago’s defense is ranked 29th in goals allowed per game (3.56).

One player who could continue to see an impact on the ice for the Senators is forward Drake Batherson. In the three previous games played, Batherson has accumulated six points with three being goals. He has accounted for 13 total points in 14 games played this March.

Look for him to establish another solid performance against one of the worst teams in the league.

Detroit Red Wings vs. Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes had a chance to make a statement on Tuesday night by going into PNG Arena and dominating the Pittsburgh Penguins with the return of Jake Guentzel. Instead, the entire team of Carolina froze and was unable to match the intensity of the Penguins.

This Thursday night they will attempt to try again and regain their rhythm as they host the Detroit Red Wings. There is plenty of faith to believe that the Hurricanes should get more productivity on Thursday as they face a Red Wings’ defense that is ranked 25th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.33).

One player who wants a rebound is forward Jake Guentzel, who didn’t account for a goal or an assist in his return to Pittsburgh. If the Hurricanes want to get out of this funk, they need a solid production from Guentzel to help set up shots.

Nashville Predators vs. Arizona Coyotes

There are not a lot of teams playing better than the Nashville Predators this late in this season. The Predators have won sixteen of the last 18 games flight with their only two losses being in overtime. They have accounted for a point in the Western Conference standings in 18 consecutive games.

On Thursday, the Predators look to continue their dominance and get revenge against a divisional rival in the Arizona Coyotes. One way they can look to so do is to continue their productive offense with their stars, including center Gustav Nyquist.

In the last six games played, Nyquist has accounted for nine points with six being assists in each game. Two games before the last six games played, he accounted for three assists in the 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Nyquist is going to be one of the most trusted players for the Predators as the regular season gets set to come to a close.
