It hasn’t been easy for the New Jersey Devils since losing center Jack Hughes to a significant shoulder injury. The Devils are looking to catch a break when they take on the Washington Capitals on Friday night.
New Jersey is taking on a Washington Capitals defense that allows only 3.09 goals per game. The Devils are still one at the top range of offenses in the league despite Hughes being out with an injury. New Jersey is averaging 3.8 three goals per game, tied for third in the league.
One player who has stepped up since the injury to Hughes is defender Dougie Hamilton. Hamilton has accounted for a goal or an assist in three of the last four games for the Devils. He accounted for a goal and an assist in the Devils’ 6-3 loss at the Colorado Avalanche.

The biggest mismatch of the season is set as the worst team in the league in the San Jose Sharks go on the road to take on the behemoth and heavily favored Vegas Golden Knights. This game is not gonna be pretty for the Sharks who only have two wins in the season. Hi
What makes the Sharks the worst team in the league is their inability to play well on the defensive side of the ice. San Jose is allowing an average of 4.39 goals per game while Vegas is averaging 3.57 goals per game, which is eighth in the league.
Golden Knights center William Carlson leads the team in points accounted for (16) and assists accounted for (9). This should be a game where Karlsson and other leaders of the Golden Knights account for multiple points.

The best game of the night and the NHL is set for a big-time Eastern versus Western Conference matchup between the Philadelphia Flyers at the Anaheim Ducks. The Flyers are taking on a much more efficient Ducks’ defense that allows only an average of 2.83 goals per game. Philadelphia will need all the support they can get on the offensive side of the ice.
One player who can contribute efficiently is Flyers defender Travis Sanheim. In 13 games this season, Sanheim has accounted for 10 assists, which leads the team. He will be an impact player needed for the Flyers to have a stable offense on Friday night.
