Both the national predators and the Vancouver Canucks are looking to make a big statement on this Halloween night. The Canucks are looking to rebound from a tough 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers at home, where their offense certainly had a chance to make a couple of impact plays, but their defense let them down. Nashville is coming off a big 3-2 home win versus the Toronto Maple Leafs as they are trying to get out of the .500% mark.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the Canucks and the Predators, as their last matchup was just one week ago today. The Canucks won a tough defensive battle 3-2 on the road at Nashville. Five different players scored a goal in this game.

Vancouver is coming into this game with a more efficient offensive and defensive unit on the ice. The Canucks are averaging 3.88 goals per game, while their defense is averaging only 2.38 goals allowed per game. The Canucks are one of the better power-play offenses in the league, as they have scored in 25.9% of their power-play opportunities.

Leading the charge for the Canucks are centers Elias Pettersson and JT Miller. Pettersson leads the team in total points accounted for four with 13 and assists with 11. He is one of the better passers not only on the Canucks but in the entire NHL. Miller has scored four goals and has accounted for eight assists, as he is just as efficient passer as Peterson but more reliable in taking more shot opportunities.

The Predators are not as efficient of a team as the Canucks offensively on the ice but they are a team that can win through strategic matchups. Defensively, the Predators are a few points behind the Canucks, as they allow an average of only 2.63 goals per game.

Nashville doesn't have an elite scorer, but they have three players who have accounted for four goals this season. Left-wing Filip Forsberg leads the team in points accounted for, with seven points with six of them being assists.

Vancouver possesses a reliable set of goalies this season in Thatcher Demko (93.6% saves) and Casey DeSmith (91.4% saves). Nashville's Jusse Saros (91.5% saves) is a player who has saved 194 shots and 212 shot attempts.
