World Cup BTTS Predictions 2026 06 20 Sweden Victor Lindelof

Tunisia vs. Japan: BTTS No (-155) at BetMGM

Tunisia took drastic action after losing its first game of World Cup 2026. A 5-1 thrashing by Sweden was too much to bear for the powers that be, which acted decisively to sack Sabri Lamouchi soon after. Herve Renard, the former Zambia, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Saudi Arabia head coach, has been parachuted in as his replacement.

Renard is an experienced international coach. He is renowned as an inspiring man-manager and a smart tactician, but he has only had a few days to work with his players. Tunisia’s pride was wounded by that shellacking by Sweden, but that only takes you so far. It has its work cut out against Japan, a crucial game for those adjusting their World Cup predictions.

The Samurai Blue was not at its best in a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands, yet it only gave up 0.78 xG. Before that, Japan kept back-to-back clean sheets against Ghana, Bolivia, Scotland, England and Iceland. Tip BTTS no at -155 with BetMGM.

Netherlands vs. Sweden: BTTS Yes (-125) at BetMGM

The Netherlands was left frustrated in its opening encounter of the World Cup, as Japan twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Ronald Koeman’s side. A tie was not a bad result for the Dutch, which remains the favorite to win the group, but its failure to protect its advantage is a warning sign for what lies ahead.

This is a curious Netherlands team. On paper, it looks like one of the strongest at the competition. Yet the collective amounts to less than the sum of its parts, making it an unconvincing outfit. Koeman’s tactical conservatism does not help. The Netherlands went too defensive when it was 2-1 ahead against Japan, and in the end it was punished for taking too many backwards steps.

Sweden was anything but conservative in its first outing of the tournament. Graham Potter used an offensive formation with Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres starting up front together, and the manager’s bravery was rewarded with a dazzling display in Monterrey. Sweden thrashed Tunisia 5-1 in a match so one-sided that it saw the North African nation sack its manager immediately after.

Isak and Gyokeres will trouble the Netherlands’ defense. Sweden has now scored in seven straight games, but its problems are at the other end. Indeed, both teams have scored in each of those seven contests. Back BTTS yes when the Netherlands takes on Sweden at -125 with BetMGM.

Germany vs. Ivory Coast: BTTS Yes (-130) at BetMGM

A place in the round of 32 is up for grabs when Germany does battle with Ivory Coast today. Both these teams were victorious last time out: Germany demolished Curacao 7-1 and Ivory Coast edged out Ecuador 1-0. Although Germany’s scoreline was more eye-catching, Ivory Coast’s triumph was arguably more significant.

After its stellar showing in the South American section of World Cup qualifying, Ecuador was heavily favored to progress. Yet Ivory Coast’s defeat of the Ecuadorians on matchday one has completely flipped the script on the World Cup Group Stage odds, putting the African nation in pole position to finish in the top two and advance automatically to the round of 32.

It was an even game between two World Cup dark horses, but a late goal from Amad Diallo ultimately settled the fixture in Ivory Coast’s favor. Amad is set to start today, and he and Yan Diomande on the wings will give Germany’s defense plenty to think about. Ivory Coast is rapid on the counter-attack and it will back itself to find the net, either on the break or from sustained possession.

But despite the fact it did not concede a single goal in its qualifying group in Africa, Ivory Coast will not be able to keep a clean sheet against a Germany side that has not drawn a blank in any of its last 10 games. With Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz forming part of its offense, Germany is well placed to find the back of the net. Choose BTTS yes at -130 with BetMGM.

Ecuador vs. Curacao: BTTS No (-250) at BetMGM

We finish up our BTTS predictions today with Ecuador vs Curacao. After suffering defeat on matchday one, it is vital that Ecuador returns to winning ways today. Curacao is in the same predicament, but as rank outsiders and World Cup debutants, it is just happy to be here. The same is not true of Ecuador, which entered the tournament with the goal of reaching the last 16.

Those ambitions took a hit with that 1-0 defeat by Ivory Coast. Ecuador hit the crossbar twice in the first half; had one of those attempts gone in, it would have been a different game. But the only time the ball entered the net, it was from a shot by an Ivory Coast player. Amad Diallo produced the one clinical moment of the match, condemning Ecuador to defeat.

Sebastian Beccacece’s boys conceded only five goals in the South American section of qualifying, despite playing 18 matches against Brazil, Argentina and the rest. But it could not keep a clean sheet against Ivory Coast, leaving it under pressure to beat Curacao today. Thankfully for Ecuador, this is a reasonably straightforward assignment as far as World Cups go.

Curacao did manage to make the net bulge against Germany, but if you replayed that match 10 times, it would have failed to score in six of them (Curacao’s xG was 0.41). Over the last 12 months, Curacao has scored zero goals against the likes of Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and China. It is not a monster in offense, and Ecuador will be able to shut it out. Pick BTTS no at -250 with BetMGM.
