The Belarusian Premier League (or the Vysheyshaya Liga) is the top division of professional soccer in Belarus. There are 16 teams that compete in the Belarusian Premier League, the most well-known of which is BATE Borisov who have won the title 15 times and is the only Belarusian team to reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Despite being a relatively minor league, it gained notoriety across the globe in 2020 when it became the only top-flight soccer league in Europe to continue playing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With almost all major sports leagues around the world shutting down, viewership of the league increased substantially and sports betting sites rushed to offer odds on Belarus soccer.
