There is a huge disparity when it comes to head-to-head records, as while Lancashire have beaten Durham on 23 occasions, the Dynamos have got the better of Lightning only nine times in total.
Lancashire are hence head and shoulders above their opposition both in terms of head-to-head statistics and current form, which makes them the obvious favourites to win this match.

Durham will lock horns with Lancashire in the upcoming North Group match of the T20 Blast 2022, on Friday, 10th June. This match will be played at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
Durham have had a pretty torrid campaign so far, and it is high time that they start picking up wins before things slip out of their grasp completely. They won their first match against Leicestershire, but lost the next two matches.
An emphatic 48-run win against Worcestershire in their fourth win made it seem that Liam Trevaskis’ team are back on track, but they were derailed immediately once again. Durham are coming into this fixture on the back of three consecutive defeats.
The story is completely different when it comes to Lancashire, as the men in red have pretty much been the most convincing team this season, across both groups. Dane Vilas’ men started their journey with a tied game against Yorkshire, but since then, they have been unstoppable.
Lancashire will come into this game with the intention of winning their seventh consecutive fixture, having beaten Worcestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Yorkshire in their last six matches.
After three consecutive defeats, it is certain that Durham will be willing to make changes to their team, but they are not spoiled for choices. Among the changes they could do is replace David Bedingham, who has not been in any sort of form in this competition. He has scored only 120 runs at an average of under 20, and hence could be replaced by Jonathan Bushnell who can also roll his arm over if need be.
From the bowling contingent, Brydon Carse has not looked threatening at all. He has picked up only five wickets in seven matches and has conceded over 9 runs per over. Hence, he could be replaced by the youngster Oliver Gibson.
On the contrary, the Lancashire playing XI looks really intimidating, featuring some of T20 cricket’s hottest prospects in the likes of Liam Livingstone and Tim David. They are unlikely to make any changes to their team, but if they do, that change is expected to happen in the bowling department. Danny Lamb has leaked runs cheaply this season, and while he picked up a couple of wickets in the last match, he also conceded 48 runs in his four overs. Hence, he could be replaced by Liam Hurt.
Graham Clark: While almost every single batter has failed to turn up, Graham Clark has single-handedly scored the lion’s share of the runs for Durham. He is currently the leading run-scorer for his team by a country mile, having scored 241 runs at an average of 34.42 and a strike rate of 148.76. The 29-year-old has scored two half-centuries so far.
Liam Livingstone: After an impressive 2022 Indian Premier League campaign, Liam Livingstone has carried his good run of form into this tournament. He has scored 164 runs at an average of 27.33 and a strike rate of 137.81. Besides that, the all-rounder has also been pretty useful with the ball, having picked up seven wickets at an economy rate of under 8 runs per over.
