We have a relatively quiet day in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Friday, however, it presents users with a golden chance to place some sureshot bets.
South Africa, who have already sealed a Super 8 spot, will take on Nepal in the Group D game while we have New Zealand, whose hopes hang by a thread, going up against Uganda in the Group C fixture in Trinidad.
There’s a third fixture that is very unlikely to happen with USA taking on Ireland. The co-hosts are strong contenders now to make it through to the Super 8 round after their shock win over Pakistan.
The below odds are taken from FanDuel and BetMGM sportsbooks for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
FanDuel offers $200 in bonus bets after placing a $5 winning wager.
BetMGM gives you $1,500 in Bonus Bets paid back. Bonus Bets Expire in 7 Days. One New Customer Offer Only. Add’l terms.

It’s best to avoid placing bets on this game with the heavy rainfall and flooding situation in Florida. The previous game here was a complete washout and it’s very unlikely that we’ll see any kind of action at this venue this tournament.

Quinton de Kock is in the twilight of his career and has not had a good start to the tournament with the tough batting conditions in New York. However, with South Africa moving on to the Caribbean leg of the tournament, de Kock becomes a major threat at the top of the order with his dynamic batting. The truer surfaces here would suit de Kock’s aggressive style of batting and we could see him play a big innings or two.
De Kock had a stirring tournament at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup last year, racking off centuries at ease and will hope to bow out from the international stage with a big tournament here in the Caribbean and USA. Against an inexperienced Nepal bowling attack, the South African opener will aim to recover from his slump and warm up for the tougher half of the tournament.
Anrich Nortje has eight wickets in three matches at the T20 World Cup and his extra pace and zip has proved to be uncomfortable for some of the top batters in the tournament. With Nepal having not faced him before, Nortje’s threat multiplies. The fresh surface at St. Vincent will also assist pace and bounce and Nortje has plenty of that up his sleeve.
Coming off a long injury absence, Nortje struggled to hit the right length and line in the Indian Premier League 2024 season. However, a switch to better pitches in the USA saw him hit his stride and the pacer was unstoppable in New York, posing stiff challenges for the batters with his deliveries rare up off a length. A lot of his wickets came off shorter length deliveries that seasoned batters found tough to handle and it’s very likely that the Proteas quick would be too hot to handle for the less experienced Nepal batters.
While the safer bet is to punt on him as South Africa’s top wicket-taker (+300 on BetMGM) for this game, a calculated risk in placing a bet for him as the Player of the Match might reap bigger rewards with the odds at +700.

New Zealand are all but out of the tournament after their poor batting display against West Indies with the Kane Williamson-led side losing both their games so far. Against a relatively minnow side like Uganda, though, New Zealand will aim for a big win and someone like Kane Williamson, who bats at No.3 in the line-up, can be banked upon to make a sizeable contribution in this game with the bat.
The skipper was dismissed cheaply against the West Indies, but his experience should come handy against Uganda’s bowling attack that has very little experience of bowling to top international batters. Williamson has 2557 runs in T20Is at an average of 32.78 and the data shows that he more often than not make a score of 25 or more in this format.
Back Williamson to make over 22.5 runs this game and give you good returns on your wager.
Devon Conway returned to top-flight cricket after a forced absence due to injury and hasn’t quite hit his stride in the T20 World Cup so far with two big games done for the Black Caps side. Conway was dismissed for single-digit scores in the matches against Afghanistan and West Indies but it is understandable that a return from injury to top-level cricket against good bowling sides isn’t an easy task, especially on some of the pitches where this tournament has been played.
Against Uganda, though, Conway has a golden chance to reverse the trend - an inexperienced bowling attack and a good batting pitch in Trinidad should ensure that the New Zealand opener makes a good contribution. Conway played on the same pitch against the West Indies and will have an idea about how the surface will behave, further aiding his case to return to form. If New Zealand bat first, particularly, expect Conway to make a big score.
