The New York Mets and Miami Marlins aren’t in the NL East race at this point in the season. Nevertheless, New York is still making noise, and they have a prime opportunity to win on Monday. 

The Marlins have been one of the weakest teams in baseball as they continue to rebuild for a brighter future. This game will conclude a four-game series, which is rare for a  Monday. 

New York will start David Peterson, who is the biggest reason to back the Mets on Monday. Peterson is 4-0 with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. He doesn’t have excellent strikeout ability, but he keeps the ball in the yard. 

Peterson has allowed just four homers in 43.2 innings this season, less than one per every nine innings. Miami doesn’t hit many home runs, but if he takes this aspect of their offense away, they will have difficulty manufacturing runs. 

Yonny Chirinos will pitch for the Marlins. He is 0-1 with a 5.76 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP. The WHIP is a massive concern and a primary reason to fade the Marlins in this spot. 

Look for Peterson to pitch well, the Mets offense to deliver, and the team to leave Miami with a win on Monday.

MLB Parlay Picks Today: Reds vs. Braves (7:20 PM, EST)

Hunter Greene is an All-Star pitcher, but we don’t like him against the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have been struggling lately, but they have a great chance of getting back on track at home versus Cincinnati. 

Our primary reason for backing the Braves is their pitcher, Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez has been fantastic at 7-3 with a 1.88 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He has allowed just 78 hits in 95.2 innings with six home runs. 

Lopez can get occasionally wild, and his walks are proof of this fact, but when he is dealing, he is tough to stop. Because of his power, Greene will be challenging for the Braves offense to counter. 

The pitcher has fanned 126 batters in 110.1 innings. Yet, he can get wild at times, and the Braves have a good enough offense to take advantage of these mistakes. 

If both pitchers are wild, Atlanta's deep offense will give them the advantage. Back the Braves in this position against the Reds.

MLB Parlay Picks Today: Red Sox vs. Rockies (8:40 PM, EST)

The Colorado Rockies are the worst team in the NL West. They now have to face the Boston Red Sox, who have been surging. Additionally, the Red Sox are coming off a West Coast series against the Dodgers, so they’re acclimated to playing later. 

The Red Sox have their ace on the mound in Tanner Houck. Houck has been fantastic in 2024, at 8-6 with a 2.54 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.
