Diamondbacks vs. Cubs (2:20 PM, EST)

Diamondbacks Moneyline (-135) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Diamondbacks take on the Cubs in Chicago as Corbin Burnes squares off against Colin Rea. Arizona has the advantage with the pitching matchup, and I expect them to handle business. 

Burnes is 0-1 with a 5.28 ERA, which is very subpar for a pitcher of his caliber. He has yet to have a quality start in 2025, but that is going to change on Friday. 

Rea has a 1.00 ERA in nine innings this season to go with seven strikeouts. He has been solid but doesn’t go deep into games, which means we will see the Chicago bullpen early in this contest. 

The Diamondbacks are hitting .259 as a team in 2025, which is the fourth-best in the league. Their offense will explode on Friday, giving Burnes a nice cushion to cruise.

The Cubs' offense has also been excellent, hitting .255 as a team. However, Burnes can stomp on Chicago with his elite arsenal.

Royals vs. Tigers (6:40 PM, EST)

Royals Moneyline (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Royals will go with their ace, Cole Ragans, against Jackson Jobe and the Tigers.

Ragans is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball when he hits his standard. He is 1-0 with a 2.28 ERA to go with a 0.93 WHIP in 2025. He has fanned 34 batters in 23.2 innings this season. 

Jobe comes into this game at 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA, and he is coming off an outstanding start. He went six innings, allowing no runs against Minnesota last week, but he might be due for some regression in this matchup. 

The Royals are struggling on offense so far in 2025, hitting .207 as a team, which is the third-worst in the league. They have plenty of talent on that side of the ball, and they will likely break through and pick up the offense. 

I trust Ragans to get Kansas City back on track and get some run support on Friday.

Dodgers vs. Rangers (8:05 PM, EST)

The Dodgers take on the Rangers on Friday night in what promises to be a great game, but Los Angeles is the stronger team. 

Yoshinobu Yamamoto gets the start for the Dodgers. He has been excellent so far this season. 

Yamamoto is 2-1 with a 1.23 ERA to go with 28 strikeouts in 2025. He is one of the best pitchers in MLB, and I think he will carry Los Angeles to a win. 

The Rangers are going with Jacob deGrom, who has a 4.30 ERA in 14.2 innings this season. Injuries have held deGrom back over the last couple of seasons. 

The Los Angeles offense will be ready for the challenge and will scratch a few runs off deGrom early in this game. Expect Yamamoto to deliver a stellar start, leading Los Angeles to a close win.
