Best MLB Prop Bets 2024 05 22

With four wins out of five picks on Tuesday, we’re heating up in late May. We've turned a profit on both days this week and we're looking to do the same on Wednesday. The plan is to stay aggressive with prop bets that have plus odds and good value. Here are the picks we have made on Wednesday with odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, which is offering new users a no-sweat bet of up to $1,500.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Angels vs. Astros (2:10 PM, EST)

Kyle Tucker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105) at DraftKings

Tucker continues to lead the majors in home runs after hitting four in his last three games. He also has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games, including four multi-hit games. In those 12 games, Tucker has gone over 1.5 bases eight times, so as long as he still has plus odds, there is good value here. The kicker is that he and several other Astros have crushed Tyler Anderson of the Angels. Tucker is 7 for 9 with four extra-base hits in his career against Anderson. Even in less than 10 at-bats, that’s an insane amount of production, so we’re all-in on Tucker in Wednesday’s game.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Brewers vs. Marlins (6:40 PM, EST)

Sal Frelick Over 0.5 Runs (+215) at DraftKings

The average fan may not know Frelick, but he’s had quite a week. The young outfielder has scored a run in five straight games, and we love the odds of him scoring another run on Wednesday. In his last six games, Frelick has reached base 11 times, so he’s giving his teammates plenty of opportunities to drive him in. Frelick is also 3 for 5 in his career against Miami starter Jesus Luzardo, so we’re expecting him to get on base in this game. We also think the Brew Crew will score plenty of runs against Luzardo and his 5.02 ERA.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Braves vs. Cubs (7:40 PM, EST)

Justin Steele Over 2.5 ER (-140) at DraftKings

Steele missed all of April with an injury and has had a disappointing start in May. He’s conceded 10 earned runs on 12 hits across his last two starts, in part because he’s given up five home runs. While he’s capable of pitching much better, the Braves are not the team he wants to face right now. Not only is the Atlanta lineup dangerous but Steele also has dreadful numbers against several key hitters. While he’s dominated Marcell Ozuna and Austin Riley, the quartet of Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris, and Matt Olson is a combined 14 for 28 with five extra-base hits. That makes us think it’ll be another rough outing for Steele.

Ozzie Albies Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+115) at DraftKings

Albies has outstanding numbers against Steele, going 4 for 6 with a pair of doubles against the lefty. The switch-hitter is batting .353 with an OPS of .912 against lefties this year, so he’s far better from the right side of the plate. Keep in mind that Albies tends to have RBI chances by virtue of hitting behind Acuna while also scoring runs frequently with Ozuna and Olson behind him. Given the favorable matchup against Steele, this is the perfect time to target Albies with this bet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers (10:10 PM, EST)

Tyler Glasnow Under 7.5 Strikeouts (+120) at DraftKings

Glasnow currently leads the majors in strikeouts and has gone over 7.5 strikeouts in five straight starts. But with such a big number and plus odds, we're going to take the under for this bet. The biggest reason is that the Diamondbacks are hard to strike out, averaging just 7.7 strikeouts per game. As good as Glasnow is, we don't expect him to go the distance against an Arizona lineup that beat the Dodgers on Tuesday, making it hard for him to reach at least eight strikeouts.
