Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 05 28

As expected, Memorial Day proved a little tricky, as we only hit two of our five MLB prop bets. But after last week was such a success, we won’t be deterred. For Tuesday, we're targeting mostly haters for our bets. However, some hitters we have chosen to favor while others we have chosen to fade, so it’s a good mix of props. The odds are coming from DraftKings Sportsbook, where new users can get a no-sweat bet up to $1,500 as their first wager after signing up.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Dodgers vs. Mets (4:10 PM, EST)

J.D. Martinez Over 1.5 Strikeouts (-120) at DraftKings

With 10 losses in their last 12 games, the Mets are in a team-wide slump with Martinez being one of the biggest victims. Even when he gets hits, Martinez struggles to make contact in other at-bats. He’s recorded multiple strikeouts in five straight games, including three games in which he’s struck out three times. To make matters worse, Martinez has to face Tyler Glasnow in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Not only does Glasnow lead the league in strikeouts but Martinez has six strikeouts against him in just 16 career at-bats, so he’s due for his sixth straight multi-strikeout game.

Tyler Glasnow Under 1.5 ER (+125) at DraftKings

Speaking of Glasnow, he’s poised to take advantage of the slumping Mets. Keep in mind that this game starts in the mid-afternoon, meaning the shadows will likely make it even harder on the batters at some point while Glasnow is on the mound. Also, Glasnow has allowed one run or less in five of his 11 starts with three of those five outings coming on the road, where he's been considerably better. Given the way the Mets are hitting lately, the Los Angeles ace should be able to shut them down in the first game of a doubleheader, so we’ll happily take a chance on Glasnow dominating with plus odds.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Blue Jays vs. White Sox (7:40 PM, EST)

Corey Julks Over 0.5 Hits (-175) at DraftKings

If you don’t know Julks, he spent a lot of years in the minors before finally getting to the big leagues last year. He was recently traded to the White Sox and has hit the ground running, going 8 for 25. More importantly, he's somehow 4 for 5 with a double and a home run in his career against Toronto starter Kevin Gausman. It's one of those baseball anomalies we discovered, so we’re going to try to take advantage of it.

Paul Dejong Over 1.5 Strikeouts (+125) at DraftKings

Dejong is a more familiar name for most fans who also finds himself playing for the White Sox this year. He’s actually 2 for 4 in his career against Gausman, although he also has two strikeouts in those four at-bats against Toronto’s starter. More importantly, Dejong is striking out in nearly 40% of his at-bats this season. After two strikeouts in Monday’s game, Dejong has struck out multiple times in six of his last 10 games. Since he’s struck out in half of his career at-bats against Gausman, who has 30 strikeouts over his last 20.1 innings and whiffed 10 in his last start, it’s not hard to envision Dejong going down on strikes multiple times on Tuesday.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Guardians vs. Rockies (8:40 PM, EST)

Jose Ramirez Over 1.5 Hits (+130) at DraftKings

Ramirez has been so good this year that the only ways to get plus odds with him are from a home run or over 1.5 hits. On Tuesday, we’ll take our chances with Ramirez collecting at least two hits, which he's done three times in his last four games and five times in his last nine games. It’s also worth noting that Ramirez and the Guards are playing at Coors Field, where it’s a little easier for someone like him to get hits in the expansive outfield. Given the 5.07 ERA of Colorado starter Jose Ramirez, we like this prop a lot.
