For starters, he’s had great success against Carlos Rodon, going 9 for 20 with three extra-base hits against him. Perez also bats two hitters behind Bobby Witt Jr., who is always getting on base. That puts Perez in a position to collect an RBI just about every day, which is why we like this bet against a pitcher who has struggled to retire Perez in the past.

Seth Lugo Under 2.5 ER (+106) at Caesars

Lugo has a tough matchup against the Yankees on Monday. He’s also coming off his worst start of the season, giving up five runs over six innings against Cleveland. That’s why Caesars has his over/under at 2.5 ER. With plus value and a little wiggle room, we’re going to get behind Lugo to bounce back. Before his last start, Lugo had allowed two runs or less in 11 of his 12 starts in 2024. Why not give one of the leading Cy Young candidates the benefit of the doubt?

Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+114) at Caesars

Despite never facing San Francisco starter Kyle Harrison before, Alvarez has mashed against left-handed pitching this year, hitting .333 with an OPS of .918. Also, prior to going hitless on Sunday, Alvarez had been red-hot with five multi-hit games in eight games since the start of June. He also has eight extra-base hits in those eight games. Therefore, Alvarez is a hot hitter with a favorable matchup and multiple paths to collecting multiple bases. It’s a no-brainer for us to take plus odds on Alvarez going over 1.5 total bases on Monday.
