Skubal has as good an opportunity to strengthen his position as he can ask for, facing off against a Mariners anemic offense that ranks in the bottom five in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.

Even with the addition of Randy Arozerena at the trade deadline, the Mariners offense is poised to continue to struggle as Skubal excels at limiting the number of opposing scoring opportunities. A case can be made that Skubal has played as the best pitcher in the league this year, taking the mound with an ERA of 2.57, a WHIP of 0.946, a FIP of 2.64, an astonishing 162 Total Strikeouts, 103 Hits Against, and just 39 Earned Runs Allowed in 22 total games played.

It also bodes well the Giants offense is currently regressing in their efforts of getting on base, sliding down to near league average in On Base Percentage.
