The best of the best are set to battle it out on Tuesday night, pitting Dylan Cease against Cristopher Sanchez in the 96th edition of the MLB All Star game. Even with both offenses loaded with star caliber players, Sanchez and Cease possess more than enough arm talent to neutralize them at the plate to get out of the first inning without conceding a Run.

Best NRFI Bets Today 2026 07 14 Blue Jays Dylan Cease

American League vs. National League - Dylan Cease vs. Cristopher Sanchez (8:00 PM, EST)

Expect the AL and NL to get off to a slow start, battling it out against a pair of arms who excel at creating Whiffs.

Under 0.5 Run (-135) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Even though Cam Schlittler is currently listed as the betting favorite to win the AL Cy Young award, Dylan Cease is hot on his tail, sitting firmly in second. Cease has been dominant in the first half of the season, entering the All Star game averaging an ERA of 2.56 and a FIP of 2.18 while leading the AL in Strikeouts. The AL Cy Young odds will likely continue to tighten as this close race heads into the second half.

With Cease in full control of his command, he will have a great opportunity to build on his momentum by taking advantage of Kyle Schwarber and Juan Soto’s sporadic contact ability. While both dominant batters in their own right, Schwarber’s over reliance on Home Run power and Soto’s patience will be tested, needing to match Cease’s aggression which will result in an early out.

Locked into a duel with Cease, Cristopher Sanchez has earned the starting nod for the NL, an elite arm in the Philadelphia Phillies rotation who is averaging an ERA of 2.62, a WHIP of 1.186, and a FIP of 2.70 in 20 starts. Sanchez’s success on the mound this season stems from his high Whiff Rate, generating more than one Strikeout while giving up less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched.

With Mike Trout showing signs of regression as the AL’s lead off man, Sanchez will be able to get more aggressive once Yordan Alvarez is up to bat without any fear of getting burned by a runner already on base. This drastically lowers the AL’s probability of scoring barring the front runner for the AL MVP award does not barrel up the ball, increasing Sanchez’s odds of keeping a clean sheet in the first inning. Alvarez currently dominates the AL MVP odds as the clear favorite to win the award.
