New York Mets vs. Cleveland Guardians - Sean Manaea vs. Joey Cantillo (6:40 PM, EST)
Against Cleveland, Sean Manaea will be able to break out of his slump by exploiting a lineup who makes contact at a low rate.
Under 0.5 Run (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook
After failing to play at a competitive level last year, the Cleveland Guardians struggles on offense have carried over into this season, ranking near dead last in Hit Rate, RBIs, Runs Scored, and in On Base Percentage. Their lack of production on offense forces them to play in highly volatile contests, making it difficult for them to string together enough wins to help close the gap for first in the AL Central. This persistent inability to consistently generate runs continues to negatively impact their AL Central odds as the season progresses.
Against the New York Mets, the Guardians struggles with getting on base will be on full display as they face off against Sean Manaea who has quietly excelled at avoiding contact, giving up nearly one Hit per inning. Even with his back end underwhelming in coverage, Manaea’s ability to put opposing batters in low quality contact scenarios will help mask it, lowering the probability of getting burned by an error.
On the other side of the field, Joey Cantillo is projected to get the start for Cleveland, a productive arm who is averaging a FIP of 3.88 while generating more than one Strikeout per inning. With the Mets grading out equally as poor in Hit Rate, Cantillo will be able to create Whiffs at a higher rate and exit the first inning without giving up a Run.

Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals - Joe Ryan vs. Randy Dobnak (7:40 PM, EST)
Expect the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals to struggle to get into scoring position with two dominant arms on the mound.
Under 0.5 Run (-105) at BetMGM Sportsbook
After going 6-4 in their last ten games, the Minnesota Twins odds of making the playoffs have steadily grown, sitting just one game back for the last wildcard spot. Their turnaround on offense has helped keep them in contention, fielding a lineup who ranks above league average in Hit Rate and in OPS.
In a divisional matchup against the Kansas City Royals, expect the Twins to fall hard back down to reality while battling it out against Randy Dobnak who is averaging an ERA of 1.04 and a WHIP of 1.192. Especially with Dobnak’s back end narrowing the width of the Twins gaps in the outfield, surrounding him with a defense who ranks 11th overall in Fielding Percentage.
Locked into a duel with Dobnak is Joe Ryan, an all star who is averaging an ERA of 3.52, a WHIP of 1.114, and a FIP of 3.44. With the Royals struggling to bring home their runners per their bottom ten marks in RBIs and in Runs Scored, Ryan will be able to continue to keep them out of scoring position while generating a high volume of Strikeouts and keep a clean sheet in the first inning.

This pivotal matchup could significantly shift the NL East odds as the postseason race heats up.
Athletics vs. Cincinnati Reds - J.T. Ginn vs. Brady Singer - The Athletics will be able to open up the scoring in the first inning against Cincinnati by attacking an arm who is averaging a FIP of 5.71 while supported by a defense who ranks below league average in Fielding Percentage.
