Best YRFI Bets Today: Time to Fade Tyler Anderson
The quality of YRFIs look bleak for Monday’s small slate of games as plenty of big name pitchers and Cy Young contenders take the mound. Two YRFIs still stick out worthy of a wager when the San Diego Padres red hot offense take the field to battle it out against the Angels Tyler Anderson while the Orioles take advantage of a less than 100% Kevin Gausman. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Angels - Matt Waldron vs. Tyler Anderson (9:38 PM, EST)
Over 0.5 Run (+100) at FanDuel
The San Diego Padres have been a consistent team to back for our daily YRFI series as they boast one of the best offenses in the league that can neutralize the production of any pitcher. If it were not for the Los Angeles Dodgers looking like a juggernaut in the same division, then the Padres would have a realistic chance at competing for the NL West division title. The Padres offense comes into the contest first overall in Team Total Hits, and top-8 in On Base Percentage, Total Runs Scored, and RBIs.
Not only did the Padres offense excel all season long, but they have only managed to get even more productive since acquiring star contact hitter Luis Arraez Jr from the Miami Marlins. Arraez is on a redemption tour after just missing out on the Hits leader title last season, now comfortably leading the field this time around as the Padres dangerous lead off man.
Every bit of the Padres offensive production will be needed against the Angels Tyler Anderson as he has put together a Cy Young contending type season so far this year. While not getting the hype that current Cy Young favorites Zach Wheeler and Shota Imanaga are receiving, Anderson is still every bit as dangerous as he comes into the contest with an ERA of 2.47 and a WHIP of 1.125.
Luckily for the YRFI, the Padres are more than capable of still scoring early against the dangerous pitcher with Arraez Jr and Fernando Tatis Jr leading things off. As for the Angels, their offense gets a far easier opportunity to open up the scoring early as the Padres Matt Waldron has underwhelmed when compared to Anderson. Waldron comes into the contest with an ERA of 4.26, a WHIP of 1.368, 59 Hits Allowed, and 27 Earned Runs Against.
Bet on Over 0.5 Run (+100) at FanDuel
Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays - Grayson Rodriguez vs. Kevin Gausman (7:07 PM, EST)
Over 0.5 Run (-105) at FanDuel
Kevin Gausman has been a routine fade target for our YRFI series as it has been apparent that he is playing less than 100% this season. He missed a majority of Spring training with a shoulder strain, opting to avoid surgery and joined the team for the last game. Since returning, he has regressed in nearly every facet and has seen his odds to win the Cy Young award plummet.
Gausman now has to find answers in a pinch against the Baltimore Orioles who have maximized their scoring opportunities by ranking above league average in Team Total Runs and RBIs. While their Hits and On Base Percentage scream negative regression, they get the fortunate ability to bypass that against Gausman who takes the mound with an ERA of 4.14, a WHIP of 1.362, 60 Hits Allowed, and 25 Earned Runs Against.
As for the Blue Jays, their surging offense now faces Grayson Rodriguez who has been steadily regressing after a hot start to the year. Once considered a Cy Young contender, Rodriguez production has been fading as opposing offenses have found more consistent success with getting on base against him. With a WHIP of 1.333, Toronto will be in a favorable position to score early should Vladimir Guerrero Jr continue his recent hot stretch of play near the top of the order.
