How can the Nets beat the Suns?

The Brooklyn Nets have now lost four straight games, as they continue to struggle without key players available. If they want to beat the Suns, they must overcome Phoenix’s pressure defense.

Through their four-game losing streak, the Nets have been averaging 14.3 turnovers while forcing just 10.0 out of their opponents. They won’t get a break, as the Suns force 15.0 turnovers per game.

Brooklyn must be responsible with the ball if they want to beat the Suns. The offense will run through Kyrie Irving and Patty Mills, but it will up to the role players to be efficient with their opportunities.

Nets Key Player: (G) Kyrie Irving

The stars aren’t shining brightly for the Brooklyn Nets as of late, but the play of Kyrie Irving has been refreshing for head coach Steve Nash. In his last game, Irving put on a classic performance despite the loss.

In the Nets’ loss to the Golden State Warriors, Irving posted 32 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in 39 minutes of play. He shot 42.9% from the field, while also converting on 11 of 12 free-throw attempts.

With Durant and Harden likely out, Kyrie Irving will be asked to shoulder the load on offense once again. However, what he can create for Brooklyn’s supporting cast will determine whether or not they can find a win.

How can the Suns beat the Nets?

The Phoenix Suns are on another incredible run, hitting the Phil Jackson standard for a championship team by winning 40 games before losing 20 games. When they take on the Brooklyn Nets, they cannot be complacent.

Despite losing their last four games, the Brooklyn Nets are still averaging 111.3 points on 45.3% shooting from the field and 36.9% from three-point range.

With Kyrie Irving at the lead, Phoenix’s defense can be opened up at a moment’s notice. If they can’t contain the Brooklyn Nets at the point of attack, they’ll be in for a more difficult night than projected.

Suns Key Player: (G) Chris Paul

In what will be a matchup between point guards, the Phoenix Suns expect to have the edge as they field one of the NBA’s best Chris Paul. Despite Phoenix’s injury issues, Paul’s game management has kept them on track.

In their last game, which was a 5-point win over the Spurs, Chris Paul posted 20 points, 19 assists, and 8 rebounds in 39 minutes of play. His efficiency was fantastic, as he was a plus-14 on 56.3% shooting from the field, while also committing just 2 turnovers.

Paul probably won’t have the scoring impact, although he certainly has the ability, but his playmaking is sure to continue.
