How Can the Bucks Beat the Nets?
The Brooklyn Nets are looking healthier than they’ve been all season and Kyrie Irving has even returned to the lineup – although only for games outside of New York. When the Bucks take on the Nets, they’ll need to try and limit Brooklyn’s success from the field.
In their last game, the Nets shot 56.4% from the field despite shooting just 23.8% from three-point range on 21 attempts. It isn’t the threat of their three-point shooting that opens up the floor for teams, but their versatility scoring is what makes Brooklyn special.
The attention that the Nets stars draw from defenders opens up the court for everyone on the squad. With finishers and shooters at every position, the Bucks defence will be challenged more than it has been all season.
Bucks Key Player: (G-F) Khris Middleton

— Bucks Nation (@BucksNationCP) January 6, 2022
With Giannis Antetokounmpo listed as questionable and Jrue Holiday unavailable, even more pressure will be on Khris Middleton to perform against the Nets.
Middleton was the sole bright spot for the Bucks in their last game, a loss to the Toronto Raptors. He posted 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The Bucks All-Star almost single-handedly dragged the Bucks to victory in the fourth quarter of his last game, but it wasn’t meant to be. Against the Nets, Middleton will need to score, distribute, and defend at the best of his abilities to make up for Milwaukee’s absences.
How can the Nets beat the Bucks?
When the Brooklyn Nets take on the Milwaukee Bucks, they’ll need to focus on limiting their opponent’s opportunities from three-point range.
In Milwaukee’s most recent game, a loss to the Toronto Raptors, the Bucks were excellent from three – despite Giannis Antetokounmpo not being in the lineup. They shot 17 of 39 from deep, accounting for almost 46% of the team’s points.
The Bucks are well drilled and the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo can only make their offence more potent. Owning the league’s best three-point defense, holding opponents to 31.6% from deep, the Nets’ standards will be put to the test.
Nets Key Player: (F) Kevin Durant

— Brooklyn Nets (@BrooklynNets) January 6, 2022
If Kevin Durant’s shoe were just a little bit smaller, we would’ve seen the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA Finals last year. He’ll now look to send a message to the Bucks in their meeting this season.
In his most recent game, Durant posted 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in a win over the Indiana Pacers. He was unstoppable from the field, converting on 15 of 24 field-goal attempts.
Durant will be the focal point going into this game, especially as the Nets aim for revenge over the Bucks. Shooting 49% over his last four games, Durant is in the kind of form that makes you expect a big night.
