How Can the Bucks Beat the Celtics?

The Milwaukee Bucks were blown out in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics. They now return to Milwaukee for two games, looking to use home-court advantage to help them take the lead in the series.

The Celtics did an excellent job holding the Bucks to some poor shooting from three. Usually very capable of pushing the pace and finding threes, the Bucks were only able to convert on 3 of their 18 three-point attempts, while shooting just 46.6% from the field.

The Bucks are missing the shooting edge of Khris Middleton in this series, and no Bucks role player was able to fill his shoes in Game 2. If they hope to take lead in the series, Milwaukee need to get their offence back in order.

Bucks Key Player: (F) Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks need Giannis Antetokounmpo to be in MVP-level form if they want to beat the Celtics while shorthanded. The Greek Freak has been getting his numbers, but he needs to do it in a more efficient manner.

Antetokounmpo has been playing right into the Celtics’ defensive plan, which led to their loss in Game 2. Through 2 games, Antetokounmpo has scored 52 total points, but on just 20 of 52 shooting from the field.

Antetokounmpo has been excellent at creating for his teammates, collecting 19 assists through two games. If he can be more selective with his opportunities, and be more efficient on offence, the Bucks have a much better chance at taking Game 3.

How Can the Celtics Beat the Bucks?

The Boston Celtics returned to their impressive two-way standards in their last game against the Bucks. On top of that, they were in immaculate shooting form.

In Game 2 the Celtics held the Bucks to 16.7% shooting from the field while forcing 16 turnovers on the night. Boston’s offence was also in great form, as they were able to convert on 20 of 43 three-point field goal attempts.

Boston have all the momentum going into Game 3. Their defence empowers their offence, so if they can maintain their defensive pressure their scoring should fall right into place. The biggest issue for them has been Milwaukee’s size, something they’ve seemed to grasp after Game 2.

Celtics Key Player: (G) Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics were pleased to see Jaylen Brown bounce back from his Game 1 performance against the Bucks. He led the Celtics in scoring, while also being a nuisance on the defensive side of the ball.

Brown was a plus-16 in Game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks, posting 30 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals in 38 minutes of play. He was great from the field, shooting 11 of 18 overall and 6 of 10 from three-point range.

His production made the difference against the Milwaukee Bucks. If he can be continue to score at a high enough rate to support Tatum, the Celtics can take the lead in the series.
