Both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns are aiming to use this game to spark a winning streak. After a short positive run, the Lakers have regressed and now sit 12th in the Western Conference with a 12-16 record. The Suns are now fourth in the Western Conference with an 18-12 record, but a 5-9 record on the road.
Phoenix enter this game on a two-game win streak, but have won just four games over their last 10 games. The Lakers are coming off of a win, while having gone 5-5 over their last 10 matches. The two teams will look at this meeting as a great opportunity to climb the Western Conference table.

There's an expectation that this game will be quite competitive when the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns face off. The Suns are looking to capitalize on a recent two game win streak over the Clippers and Pelicans. While the Lakers are also on a two game win streak, they are still missing some key players in this matchup.
The Suns have been excellent to bounce back from their five game losing streak with back-to-back wins. They've averaged 114.5 points on a 10.0 point differential, while also forcing 16.0 turnovers to 8.0 of their own. On the other end of the court are a Lakers side that have averaged 122.5 points over their last two games, while shooting 51.3% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.
Despite the severity of their recent losing streak, the Suns showed their quality as they won by a 10.0 average points margin against the LA Clippers and the New Orleans Pelicans - two of the league's top defences. The Lakers have over-performed through their recent win streak, and against improved opposition in the Phoenix Suns their outlook isn't promising. Given the Suns' solid three-point defence, don't expect the Lakers' offence to be as potent as in recent games.
