How Can the Nets beat the Celtics?
The Brooklyn Nets are a team filled with superstars, which sometimes harms them when it comes to the intangible battle. Against a less talented, but still hungry Celtics team, the Nets must have a blue-collar mentality.
The Celtics are ranked seventh in the NBA in rebounds with 46.9 per game. Even more of an issue for Brooklyn, the Celtics average 10.4 offensive rebounds per game.
While Boston prefers to reset after the offensive rebound rather than go back up, they are still a concern due to the rebounding strength of their centers. Brooklyn must put up a fight in the paint if they want to beat Boston.

After a shocking end to LaMarcus Aldridge’s season last year, he surprised the world by coming back from what many thought to be a serious health issue. Through the beginning of the Nets’ season, Aldridge has shown he still has a lot to give.
In his last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Aldridge put on a classic performance. He scored 21 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field, while also collecting 11 rebounds and a block.
When things get tough on the offensive end, the Nets usually turn to Kevin Durant. Now coming off the bench, Aldridge has shown that he has more than enough left in the tank to spell Brooklyn’s stars.
How can the Celtics beat the Nets?
The Boston Celtics are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. It isn’t due to any singular defensive presence, but the smoothness of their rotation lets them take on a variety of offences.
When the Celtics face the Nets, they need to be wary of Brooklyn’s three-point threat. Brooklyn’s shooting is consistent, averaging 12.2 threes in losses and 13.5 in wins.
Over their last three wins, the Celtics have allowed 13.7 threes per game on 36% shooting. They won’t stop Brooklyn’s attack from deep, but they must do all they can to limit the Net’s efficiency from three.
Celtics Key Player: (F) Jayson Tatum

In what is expected to be a grind-it-out matchup, all eyes are on the Celtics’ go-to isolation scorer. While Jayson Tatum hasn’t led the Celtics to the heights that many expected yet, he’s been Boston’s rock to open the season.
Tatum is coming off of a game where he posted 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 33 minutes of play. If he can improve anywhere, it’d be on his three-point shooting, as he shot just 1 of 9 from deep last time out.
Never known to be much of a playmaker, Tatum will be relied upon to help the Celtics keep up with Brooklyn’s scoring runs.
