PHO: Paint Toughness
The Suns were able to squeeze out a victory in their last match, mostly due to Ayton’s toughness in the paint. Despite an overtime period, Ayton played injured and manned the paint to help hold off the Bucks.
The Suns will need a similar group effort in the paint when they face the Sixers. Their trend is good, having won the rebounding battle in their last game against the Bucks – 45 to 42.
The Sixers will come out aggressive after their last match. They were also beaten on the boards in their last match and will want to establish their paint presence early. With Ayton nursing an injury, Saric, and backups Crowder and Craig will have to help with the rebounding effort.
Suns Key Player: (G) Chris Paul
The Suns’ point guard leader has looked ageless this season. His mastery of the pick-and-roll powers Phoenix’s offense, something that will have to be on point when they face the Sixers.
In his last game, Paul posted 22 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds in 38 minutes of play. He led the team in net rating with a +9.
The Sixers are long and athletic on the defensive side of the ball. They’ll be able to get out to Phoenix’s shooters, so Paul’s playmaking will be crucial through broken plays.

PHI: Attack the Rim
The Philadelphia 76ers are a solid three-point shooting team, but their best nights from the range come from a concentrated effort attacking the rim.
Between Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the Sixers are one of the best teams in the NBA at converting inside. They are top ten in both two-point field goals and attempts.
The Sixers were poorer than usual from the field in their last game, just 39.3% from the field. With a possibly shorthanded paint presence, the Suns may present a favorable opposition for the Sixers.
Sixers Key Player: (G) Seth Curry
With Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris out for their last matchup, Seth Curry had to step up to the plate for the Sixers to reinforce the scoring department.
Curry posted 15 points and five assists in his last game, shooting 40% from the field and hitting three three-point shots.
Curry worked well off of Embiid to find his shots, but also contributed with the Sixers’ playmaking shortage. He’ll be facing a lot of tenacious defenders against the Suns, so his ability to work off the ball will be incredibly valuable.
