Stephen Curry’s quality is unquestionable at this point in his career. After a night off, Curry will be back in action against the struggling Grizzlies.
This season, Stephen Curry has averaged 26.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.6 threes per game on 44.3% from the field and 39.8% from the three-point range. In his last game, a win over the Bulls, Curry posted 27 points, nine assists, and six threes on 33.3% from the field but 40.0% from three-point range.
Curry has converted on five or more threes in 19 of his 36 appearances this season. He projects to continue that form when he faces Memphis, who are in the bottom third of the league in three-point defense and boast an eight-man injured list.
Like his long-term backcourt partner Steph Curry, Klay Thompson is an expert from three-point range. He’s struggled this season, but Thompson has shown a few flashes of his old quality.
In his tenth professional season, Thompson is averaging 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 threes per game on 42.5% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range. In a loss to the Bucks, Thompson hit sex threes for 21 points despite shooting 30.4% from the field overall.
A testament to Thompson’s quality, he has hit under 3.5 threes in 22 of his 38 appearances this season. The Grizzlies are a depleted side, but Thompson’s recent bout with inefficiency is expected to continue as he’ll be the focus of his opponent’s defensive game plan.
Wagers on a single aspect of a player's performance, instead of the overall result of a game, are called a player prop. This means placing bets on specific player actions, such as points scored or rebounds, with bookmakers establishing benchmarks.
For example, a prop bet on Stephen Curry's performance in the Warriors versus Grizzlies game might speculate if he scores over or under 4.5 made threes. These wagers enable bettors to focus on specific players within the broader game context.
