His Game 4 performance was classic, though, as he put up 29 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists on 44.0% shooting in the evening to stave off elimination. The odds are against Edwards’ team to salvage a series win, but if he can perform at his best, the Timberwolves have a chance at making history.

Bouncing back in Game 4 with 25 points and four threes on nine of 13 shooting, Towns made his most substantial claim for West Finals MVP. It’s still a long road from here, but Towns is finally off on the right foot.

However, he struggled in Game 4, their first loss of the West Finals, putting up just 16 points on 33.3% shooting. Irving has the quality to take over and win a Conference Finals MVP, but his role as secondary playmaker to Luka Doncic makes it challenging to sustain a competitive impact.
