Led by Isaiah Stevens, who averages 16.5 points and seven assists per game, the Rams have the best guard on the floor on Tuesday. Beyond Steven, three other players average double-digit points per game: Joel Scott, Nique Clifford, and Patrick Cartier. Clifford is also the team's leading rebounder with 7.5 per game. Only two players average more than 3.1 rebounds per outing.
Colorado State has one of the stronger defenses here, allowing 98.8 points per 100 possessions, per KenPom, while scoring 115.5 over that same stretch.
This season, Colorado State is 24-10 straight up and covers about 50% of their games. They finished 10-8 in conference play and lost in the semi-finals of the Mountain West Tournament, losing 74-61 to New Mexico, the eventual champions.
This team averages 75.1 points per game (107th), shoots 48.2% from the floor (17th), and 33.2% from three-point range (212th).
The Cavaliers head into this game as one of the more defensively-focused groups. They hold teams to just 59.6 points per game (2nd), and teams only shoot 40.2% from the floor (12th) and 30.4% from downtown (18th).
Only two players, including Reece Beekman and Isaac McKneely, average double-digit points. Their best rebounder is Ryan Dunn with seven per game and Beekman also leads the team in assists at 6.3.
According to KenPom, Virginia is sixth in adjusted defensive efficiency, allowing 93.3 points per 100 possessions, but offensively, they’re sixth-worst at 105.4 points scored per 100 possessions.
When Virginia is playing, 54.6% of their games finish under. This team simply locks other teams up while not scoring much at all, averaging 63.6 points per game (349th).
We’re taking the under at 121.5 at BetMGM. Here, players can make their first wager while knowing, if they lose, they’ll get it back, up to $1,500, in bonus bets.
Colorado State has plenty of offensive firepower, but Virginia has held teams down all season while not scoring much of their own. If both teams break 60 points, it would be surprising. Colorado State is 78th in the nation in points allowed per game at 69.
