This looks to be an exciting NFL Week 7 cross-conference battle between two division leaders with the 4-2 Kansas City Chiefs in charge of the AFC South and the 3-3 San Francisco 49ers tied atop the NFC West with two other teams, a win here a sure way to keep or lose mid-season dominance among their rivals.

The Chiefs are favored by almost a touchdown after coming off a big Week 6 loss to the Buffalo Bills, but keep in mind that the road team has covered the spread in 6 of KC’s last 7 matchups, and in this case, that’s them traveling to CA so that would entail QB Patrick Mahomes recovering from a 2-pick game and facing San Fran with the second most team sacks in the NFL (23).

Another reason the odds makers have Kansas City so heavily favored is due to the level of injuries that the San Francisco 49ers are having to handle, currently with eight players listed as questionable to play and another ten out on the injured reserve list, too many fallen playmakers for even this deep of a roster, a factor that could prevent the Niners from covering this spread.

POINTS TOTAL: Under 49 (-110) at PointsBet

This is a fun bet because each of these teams can find the endzone often but the Kansas City Chiefs are currently the highest-scoring team in the league after averaging 29.8 points per game while the San Francisco 49ers are the 19th highest scorers after having averaged 20.3 points per game, that 50.1 just over what is listed.

Next, take a look at what each of these two defenses allows opponents to score the Niners are the second-best in that category after allowing just 14.8 points per game whereas the Chiefs have allowed the teams they are playing to score an average of 24.3 points per game, that total of 39.1 well under the total points the oddsmakers are predicting this matchup will generate.

Keep in mind that eight of San Fran’s last nine games have gone UNDER the total points line so add that to your list of considerations, but more importantly look at the injuries both teams are currently enduring, with two of the Niners’ starting DEs listed as questionable to play – Nick Bosa (groin), Arik Armstead (foot) – creating the next man up situation that may not go so well.

This bet is fantastic because it forces the bettor to make a choice between two teams without any points given to either, a straight-up wager that gets even more thrilling with NFL games since that league brags of its parity, meaning most teams are relatively equal so any one of them can win on ‘any given Sunday’.

If the Chiefs beat the San Fran 49ers outright next Sunday afternoon, a $225 money line bet on KC will pay out $100 plus the original bet, whereas a $100 bet on the Niners will pay the winner $265 plus their original investment, this bet perfect for anyone who has a great feeling either way, though it’s often tough to know how teams from different conferences will match up.

Kansas City has won 14 of their last 15 games against NFC opponents and given the extent of the injuries to so many of the San Francisco players we are taking the Chiefs on the money line feeling comfortable that KC is ready to avenge last week’s loss by making life uncomfortable for Niners’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo who has already been sacked 7 times in the 5 games he’s played.
