The Houston Texans host the Philadelphia Eagles to kick off Week 9 of the NFL season on Thursday Night Football, and it’s safe to say that most expect the 7-0 Eagles to beat the 1-5-1 Texans.
With this expectation, let’s look at this game and build a Same Game Parlay.

This season, the Texans have done a decent job against the pass. Still, the Eagles' offense is dominant in all facets possible. If they can’t pass the ball, they’ll run it with running back Miles Sanders, and quarterback Jalen Hurts. When that happens, that opens up the passing game.
The Texans have Steven Nelson at cornerback, playing above average this year. Still, this receiving group features DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dallas Goedert. It’ll be difficult for this team to cover all their options and keep Hurts’ rushing production in check.
The key to the Texans' offense will be the success of running back Dameon Pierce. The Eagles allow nearly 115 rushing yards per game, but if the Eagles pull away massively, the Texans will need to throw.
The Texans average just under 17 points per game, and the Eagles average 28. However, the Eagles' defense should be able to slow down this offense that’s not one-dimensional but close to it.
Whether it’s a Texans safety or linebacker Christian Kirksey, Goedert will have a fantastic matchup. Looking at Kirksey and the Texans' starting safeties, they have, as a unit, allowed 481 yards and four touchdowns.
The Texans will have so many weapons to keep track of, including Hurt and Browns, that Goedert should have plenty of opportunities.
According to Pro Football Focus, Kirksey ranks as the 31st out of 78 linebackers in coverage.
Goedert is in for a big game.
All you need to know is that the Texans allow over 180 rushing yards per game. Yes, they allowed over 200 to Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry a week ago. Even before that, they allowed about 170 rushing yards per game.
Hurts is averaging 11 carries per game this season, eight of which are designed runs.
The Texans have been somewhat decent against the pass this year, and if they do enough to make the passing game rather tricky, Hurts will take off and run. Hurts has gone over 35 yards rushing in four of seven games this year, and the Texans should make that five of eight.
Get ready for Hurts to have another great game.
