Our first prop bet of the day will come from an exciting matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the Buffalo Sabres. Both of these teams have high-powered offenses, so expect to see a lot of goals. We will look to Timor Meier for this bet. Meier started the season with the San Jose Sharks but was traded to the New Jersey Devils at the Trade Deadline. That trade was a huge move for New Jersey and made them significantly better. Meier is an excellent offensive player, but the over/under is set a little too high for him. He will not shoot three times today. Bet on the under.

Meier has been on a shooting spree lately but does not perform well against the Sabres. He has faced the Sabres twice this season (both times with San Jose) and only put together three combined shots. This is surprising because the Sabres have a questionable defense and allow 33 shots per game. For whatever reason, Meier has been stifled by Buffalo and has failed to get a point against them.

Meier is an excellent player, but I do not see him suddenly performing well against a team he has struggled against this season. He will finish with two or fewer shots. Bet on the under.

New York Islanders vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Our second prop bet of the day takes us to Columbus, Ohio. This should be a one-sided matchup since the Islanders are surging and have a revamped roster, and the Blue Jackets are struggling and one of the worst teams in the league. This bet involves the Islanders’ Kyle Palmieri. Palmieri has had a couple of quieter seasons since being traded to the Islanders in 2020. However, he has stepped up in his last few games and performed better than expected. The veteran will perform well in this game and finish with at least a point. Bet on the over.

Palmieri comes into this game with 12 goals and 14 assists. The 32-year-old may only have 26 points in 45 games this season but has five points in his previous three games. That is not the only reason he will have a point today. Palmieri will be facing a Blue Jackets team with one of the worst defenses in the NHL this game. The Blue Jackets allow 3.87 goals per game and have given up 29 goals in their last five games. Simply put, the Islanders will score a lot of goals against the Blue Jackets, and Palmieri will have plenty of opportunities to get a point. Bet on the over.

Arizona Coyotes vs Colorado Avalanche

Clayton Keller U 0.5 Assists -135 (DraftKings)

Our third prop bet of the day will come from the third (and final) game of the day. This bet involves the Arizona Coyotes’ young star, Clayton Keller. Keller is only 24 years old and plays for one of the worst teams in the NHL, but he can soon be the face of the Coyotes’ franchise. He is a gifted goal-scorer and leads the Coyotes in points by a large margin. However, he is facing one of the better defensive teams in the Colorado Avalanche in this matchup. Keller will not finish with an assist today. Bet on the under.

Keller comes into this game with 34 goals and 44 assists. His numbers are excellent, but he will have a tougher time against the Avalanche. The Avalanche give up less than 2.8 goals per game and have been even better lately. They are only allowing 2.4 goals per over their previous five games. In case that is not convincing enough, the Avalanche only allowed two goals in their previous game against the Coyotes.

Keller is a great player, but he is not a strong enough passer to get an assist in this matchup. Bet on the under.

New Jersey Devils vs Buffalo Sabres

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen O 31.5 Saves -105 (DraftKings)

Our fourth prop bet takes us back to Columbus. We have entered the goalie prop section of the article. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is the #1 goalie for the Sabres, even though he is not having a great season. His struggles are not entirely his fault (Luukkonen gives up too many goals), but he could use a lot of improvement. With that being said, he will finish with at least 32 saves today. Bet on the over.

Luukkonen will hit the over because he will see a lot of shots. The Sabres allow 33 shots per game, and the Devils average 34.6 shots per game. If you combine the Sabres’ weak defense with the Devils’ strong offense, you can see why Luukkonen will see 37-40 shots this game. If he does see that many shots, you can expect at least 33 saves. Bet on the over.

New York Islanders vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Michael Hutchingson U 28.5 Saves -105 (BetMGM)

We are on to our final prop bet of the day. This one is also a goalie prop and involves the Blue Jackets’ Michael Hutchinson. Hutchinson has only played in six games this season (two starts) and has put up some questionable performances. The career journeyman has only seen a handful of time in the NHL in the last six seasons, so I would not expect big thing from him tonight. Bet on the under.

Hutchinson has given up nine goals in his two starts this season. He comes into this game with an .875 save percentage and a 4.17 goals allowed average. The veteran will struggle in this game and may give up five goals. He will see a lot of shots, but not enough to hit the over. The over/under is a few saves too high. If this game was against a team that shoots more, like the Devils, I would hammer the over, but the Islanders do not shoot quite enough. Bet on the under.
