Two of the highest-powered offenses collide in Sin City on Saturday night in what’s shaping up to be an absolutely electric tilt. These two met just over a month ago and treated us to an eight goal night in a 5-3 Edmonton win. The table is set a little differently this time around with a healthier-looking Vegas squad. They entered that game just 1-3, but now come into the weekend as one of the best in the West at 12-8-0.

Edmonton Oilers vs Vegas Golden Knights Pick

This one maybe a little too tough to call outright so we’re taking the OVER instead of a winner or a loser. Right now the tally is set at 6.0 and we’re going OVER (+100) for the win.

Another Pair of MVP Candidates, Again

For yet another year in a row, the Edmonton Oilers may clean up at this year’s NHL Awards. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid lead the league in multiple categories. Draisaitl tops the board in goals (20) and points (40) while McDavid leads the charge in assists (22). If you’ve been living under a rock as well, you’d also know that McDavid is also the league leader in ‘Goal of the Year’ candidates with a pair of solo effort gems against the Jets and Blue Jackets.

Needless to say, if the Golden Knights want to win this game they will need to shut down two of the league’s most lethal snipers and playmakers. It’s a feat that very few clubs have accomplished, but with Vegas allowing just 11 goals in their last four games, they may have an outside shot of pulling it off.

Vegas Needs to Keep Spreading the Love

If one thing is for sure with this Vegas team at this very moment, it’s that they’re not waiting for Jack Eichel to return from injury before they turn it on. These Golden Knights have taken seven of their last 10 and are as hot as any team in the NHL right now. They’ll be in tough against Edmonton, but unlike the Oilers this team has found the majority of its success thus far by spreading the points around a little more. It’s not just one or two guys leading the charge. Everybody is getting in on the action.

Five players are in double digits right now for points. They’ve also got a pair of tenders with winning records and goals against averages under three. Pretty much anywhere you look in the Vegas room, you’ll find a guy that can help this team win. Led by Chandlers Stevenson’s breakout start to the year with 19-points in 20 games, the Vegas Golden Knights are relying heavily on added production from unlikely sources up front along with some extra volume from the point.

They can win this game surely, but the safer bet we feel still lies in the OVER/UNDER category. Let us explain a little further…

Edmonton has hit the OVER in six of their last eight against the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Vegas has smacked the OVER in eight of their last 11 overall.
